TITANIC NEWS

Titanic, the Potteries own brewery; has announced a summer season of new beers which should be of interest most beer lovers. In addition to the Burslem based brewery’s regular beers: Best Bitter, Premium, Stout, Captain Smith’s, Lifeboat and White Star, Titanic have a beer which will be available throughout June called "Triple Screw".

Described as "Hoppy, Malty and Smooth", at 4.5% abv, this beer will be widely available through the Hogshead chain,

Advance notice has also been given for July’s ale, ‘Sundeck", at 4.3%, described by Titanic boss, Keith Bott, as "Tan coloured with a floppy character, developing in rounded flavours. Enjoy this ‘Quoit" superb beer."

Titanic are also brewing at the Shugborough Hall County Museum brewhouse, and have recently produced a beer for the Wolverhampton CAMRA Beer Festival entitled ‘New Hampton Ale", a dark bitter at 4.1% abv. This was brewed under the direction of the Wolverhampton branch of CAMRA - which probably means that they had to be at Shugborough at 6am to light the log fire!

The Stafford Arms, Titanic’s tied house opposite Stafford Rail station, has a beer festival from 10th to 13th June, and a new 3.9% wheat beer entitled "Weisberg" will be available.

Titanic director, Keith Bott, is now Finance Director of CIBA, the independent brewers’ association, after being vice-chairman for some years.

Hoppy, malty and smooth this three pronged attack

on the taste buds is a treat for ale beer lovers
