TITANIC NEWS

Titanic Brewery continues its range of seasonal ales with Golden Age (4.6% abv) for December and the Millenium, writes Keith Bott. The Titanic was built in the "golden age" of the early 20th century, and this powerful golden ale has been brewed to help usher in a new "golden age". Golden Age will be available from all the usual outlets, including the Hogshead chain and the Bull's Head in Burslem.

The Bull's Head in St. John's Square, Burslem (by Woolworth's), is now Titanic's only tied house, and has recently been brought back into the direct control of the brewery. It now has the largest range of Titanic beers available anywhere, plus a couple of guests as well. With such a good range of beers - up to nine at a time - this former Potteries Branch Pub of the Year should be on any beer lover's list of places to visit.

It's winter, and it's Wreckage time again. This extra strong ale is available again - with a word of caution - it is around 8% abv, and so it must be treated with respect. Get it while you can, it doesn't last long!!

Having a party over Christmas and the Millennium? You can order your favourite Titanic beer and save money! Prices vary according to the beer, but start from just over a pound a pint for 36 pints, and from 36 pints to 36 gallons (or more).

For details contact either the Bull's Head, or the brewery directly. And now, to scotch the wackiest rumour of the year - that Titanic's beers are brewed by Allied! What utter rubbish!! Apart from some special Shugborough brews, which are brewed in the 18th century brewhouse on the Shugborough estate, all Titanic's beers are brewed at the Burslem brewery, and are genuine Potteries ales. When you try them in the Bull's Head you are less than a mile from the brewery
