Background
Every one who has followed independent wrestling promotions in West Virginia, & Ohio has at one time or another, heard the name Kyd Dynomite. He has to be one of the youngest, top stars in the independent circuit in this area. Growing up in an average income family, Drew Beane saw the importance of hard work and dedication. His father was a business man, & his mother consistently tried to teach Drew the difference between wrong & right, helped him develop the values & morals which would be ever present for the rest of his life. Drew, as a youngster, developed a sincere interest in pro wrestling when he was 11 years old. Finally deciding that he would & could never be big enough, (or lucky enough) to step in the ring & compete, Drew gave up his dream of pursuing wrestling & instead turned to music. He learned to play the guitar by 12, and started writing songs as soon as he mastered the basic chords. All his spare time was consumed by his growing passion for music, and by 15, it started to pay off. He was playing in bars & clubs, as a front man in a band, which was primarily made up of his older neighbors. By 17, their band had achieved a wide amount of notoriety, and Drew had an opportunity to have his music published through ASCAP. He decided not too publish his songs, for fear that they would be misconstrued & distorted. When he wrote a song, he put all of his heart & soul into it, and did not want to have it changed around in any way. "Besides," he said, "I have too much unfinished business to take care of here anyway." While pursuing his musical ambitions, he also started his own sound system & DJ business with the help of one of his close friends. That's when he discovered how much he liked to entertain people.
When he turned 18, he was approached by a wrestler named Sunny Rogers, who asked Drew to DJ an independent wrestling event. Somewhat skeptical, Drew agreed to do so. Three weeks before the event, Sunny called Drew and asked if he would like to step into the ring for "ONE" night. Drew, realizing the opportunity to make a lifelong dream come true, even if it was for just "ONE" night, accepted the offer. He trained in his living room, for the next three weeks, preparing for his match. Finally, the big night had come, and although Drew lost his first match, the fire inside had been rekindled. After four weeks of recuperating, Drew wanted to continue in the sport, and after a couple years was able to find "nitch" for his character. His trainer, Sunny, had Drew to use the name Kyd Dynomite, when he first started training, & it stuck with him ever since. Drew was finally able to develop the type of personality that Kyd Dynomite needed: Being himself, only turned up a couple of notches. Every obstacle, every mountain, too Drew, was just an even bigger & better challenge for him to face. An even bigger obstacle for him to face was the decision to leave all his friends & family, including his fellow wrestlers, & move out to the midwest, working for a nationwide retailer. After spending almost 6 years traveling the majority of the US, & still trying to wrestling for some Indy promotions, Drew decided it was time for Kyd Dynomite to return to his home here in West Virginia.
And of course when he did, he picked right up where he left off, as if he'd never even been gone. In May of 1999, Drew also got married, and soon there after, found out that he would be a dad. In June of the same year, he started a wrestling training program, working with individuals who wanted to go into pro wrestling. In December, he decided to take some time off, and taking some schooling courses. On February 21st, 2000, the "Kyd" became a father to a beautiful baby girl. Drew now had a new challenge to face; this time, his challenger weighed 7lbs. 14oz. In April, Kyd Dynomite made his debut in PCW at Poca High School. His opponent then was "Mr. Attitude" Alan Matthews, one of Drew's former trainees. It was a best two out of three falls match, and Drew somehow managed to pull out the win. Three weeks later, in Otway, OH, Drew teamed up with a partner & friend named Talon, to take on Mr. Attitude & his partner Sabertooth. Attitude & Sabertooth had several issues between them, that still to this day remain unsettled, & the tension between them was very obvious throughout the tag match. Meanwhile, Talon & Kyd never looked better as a tag team, but it was very short lived. Kyd Dynomite went up to the top rope for a splash, when his partner grabbed him & power-slammed him off the top. Talon then went on to pull Sabertooth on top of Kyd to get the victory. The following week in Wellston, OH, Kyd Dynomite had his chance to pay Talon back. Kyd was "taking Talon back to school" when out of no where, came Mr. Attitude & Sabertooth attacking Drew on the outside of the ring. Kyd took advantage of a mistake made by Talon, & ended up clearing the ring after another wrestler came to Kyd's aid. However, the referee disqualified Kyd, & gave the victory to Talon. Six days later, in Minford, OH, Kyd Dynomite received a neck injury that took him out of the action for a while.
Drew had to take some time & recuperate. During his recovery period, he still had several more challenges to overcome. While he was recuperating, Drew & his wife decided to separate & get a divorce. Afterwards, he wanted to refocus his attention in other areas of his life, such as dating & a social life (neither of which has been very successful for him). He also wanted to do other things within the wrestling world, so he decided to try his hand at commentary. On August 26th, in Portsmouth, OH, Kyd was commentating the event when a three-way match-up between Talon, Sabertooth, & Mr Attitude, got the best of him. Kyd let his temper get the best of him, & ended up wrestling in the entire match. It turned into a fatal four-way match. Of course he was not 100%, which only prolonged his recovery. However, Kyd did do something that was a shock to not only the fans, but also to everyone in the back. The referee was taken out by Sabertooth, and as Sabertooth went for his Tiger-Submission on Mr. Attitude, Kyd jumped out of the ring, pulled a referee shirt on, & jumped back into the action. The commentator, turned wrestler, turned referee, went & grabbed Mr. Attitude's hand & made him tap out, while in Sabertooth's Tiger-Submission. The win was given to Sabertooth. Since then, Drew has been back to his vigorous training routine, trying to reach his peak physical condition, in order to begin competing once again.
