ECW PUTS SABU IN HIS PLACE >2< ����������������������������������

Extreme Championship Wrestling has flexed it's legal muscle, putting wrestling star Sabu in his place and insisting that he return to work effective immediately with ECW.

Sabu has been out of action due to his mother being in the hospital, and has been involved in controversy stemming from his negotiations to sign with World Championship Wrestling while he was still bound to a written contract with Extreme Championship Wrestling. ECW has refused to grant him his release, and insists he is still under contract to them despite the fact he feels they have breached his agreement.

Despite earlier reports on the internet, it doesn't look as though Scott Hall has not been released from the hospital and that he is still under supervision by his doctors. The confusion was due to the hospital telling reporters that Hall had been released due to the volume of inquiries regarding his condition.

The latest on Hall's injury is that it appears to be a bulging disc in his back. Earlier reports had suggested a possible bruised spinal, but that has been ruled out.

Hall underwent numerous tests on Monday, including a CAT scan and an MRI. What a possible bulging disc means for his career is still up in the air, although surgery to repair the damage is extremely likely and it is not out of the question that Superbrawl could very well have been Hall's last professional wrestling match.

The World Wrestling Federation wants nothing to do with Barry Blaustein's new wrestling documentary, "Beyond The Mat". Due to the fact Vince McMahon and the WWF feel that the documentary shows that wrestlers actually can suffer injuries that take a toll on both the wrestlers and their families, the WWF wants no part in helping promote the film in anyway, shape or form.

The film takes an inside look at the professional wrestling thru the eyes of the people that work in it everyday. Some of those featured include Mick Foley, Jake The Snake Roberts, Paul Heyman, Mike Modest, and many others. It has been getting rave reviews from fans who have seen advanced screenings, and is expected to do quite well in the movie theatres due to the popularity of wrestling today.

What this does mean for the film itself, is that the WWF is blocking the production company from mentioning any names of WWF wrestlers that appear in the movie in the promotional trailers and television commercials. This is certainly a blow to the film itself, as it prevents them from being able to capitalize on the WWF's huge popularity.

It is unclear if Mick Foley's name can be mentioned in the promotional commercials, the WWF does not own the trademark to his name as it is his real name and they could certainly use Foley's name in conjunction with promoting the film due to his popularity with wrestling fans. They can't, however, utilize the name Mankind.

The WWF appears intent on doing what they can to help prevent this movie from being a success.

The World Wrestling Federation dominated it's competition on Monday night, posting a 5.9 composite rating opposite of Nitro's 2.7 composite.Surprisingly, Nitro was able to score one of it's highest head-to-head quarter hour ratings during the Nitro main event by posting a 3.8 overrun rating for the final quarter.

Both Luna and Glen Kulka have been released for their WWF contracts. With Glen Kulka, his release was only a matter of time as he was out with a serious leg injury since starting in the WWF and recently had problems with the law in Canada. WWF has decided to cut their losses and let Kulka go. As for Luna, she has been let go due to an altercation with a backstage producer. Luna seems to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time as this has not been the first time she has been let go over some strange incident.

Even though ECW may be losing some talent to WCW, their next PPV is shaping up and will be headlined by a 3-way dance for the title between Awesome, Tanaka and little Spike Dudley.

Scott Steiner is among the latest names to be rumored to have asked for his WCW release. With major problems with management, not to mention the problem he has with guys like Flair and Hogan, it is not unlikely that Steiner wants out. The only difference is that unlike Benoit and some of the other wrestlers WCW has just let out of their contracts, WCW might not give up Steiner. We'll keep you posted if anything further develops.

It has been confirmed that the Rock will host the March 18th episode of Saturday Night Live. No wrestler has done this since 1985 when Hogan hosted just prior to WrestleMania. The WWF is truly becoming a world known entertainment product as Saturday Night Live is a major plus for anyone involved. Should be interesting to see just what kind of characters the Rock portrays and how he enjoys the experience.

Sabu was scheduled to be the mystery opponent of the Demon at WCW's PPV on Sunday, however WCW has officially changed the match to the Demon vs the Wall. This news along with the recent actions of Scott Hall have put the PPV in a real dilema. A number of matches have been changed and with Scott Hall's being sent home from the latest Thunder tapings, the main event may not be the same come Sunday. It looks as though WCW couldn't have any more problems, but don't doubt it.

Benoit, was not at Tuesday's Samckdown tapings. Howver it was not for any reason that seems some common in WCW right now, but instead because his wife was having a baby back in Canada and the WWF told him to fly back to Canada to be with her. Congratulations to Benoit and the rest of his family!

James Brown has been confirmed to be appearing at Superbrawl for WCW. As part of an angle with Ernest Miller, the godfather of soul will actually be one of the main draws for WCW this Sunday. How sad.
