The Friday Night Mixers
are a combination of food, drink, and social tennis. Every 2nd and 4th
Friday, we meet at the newly completed pavilion to mix things up.
- The mixers are a
fun way to meet other Legacy Park tennis players.
- They are not a tournament,
or ladder. Skill levels vary widely, so a handicap system is used.
- You will have a different
partner each time you take the court.
- Cost is $5, plus
bring your own drinks, plus some food to share.
- Remember our new
twist on the mixers. The top 4 players are not always chosen to play
in the championship round. When the mixer is finished, we roll a die
to determine who will play in the finals. The options are as follows:
If the die lands on
a:
- ONE: The top 4 players
will play in the playoffs (top man with second highest woman, versus
top woman with second highest man).
- TWO: The bottom 4
players will play in the playoffs (lowest man with second lowest woman
versus lowest woman with second lowest man).
- THREE: The highest
man will play with the lowest woman against the highest woman and
lowest man.
- FOUR: We will average
all of the scores. The 4 people who are closest to that average score
will play in the finals (if there are more than 4, we will do a roll-off).
- FIVE: We will take
the most common score, and choose those 4 people to be in the playoffs.
For example, if 8 people finish with a score of 12, then those 8 people
will do a roll-off to see who will be in the finals.
- SIX: The first four
people who signed up on the mixer board (and paid) will be in the
playoffs.
Also, watch the signboards
next to Annandale and Bellingrath when entering and leaving Legacy Park.
Signs are posted when a mixer is scheduled, generally the 2nd and 4th
Fridays of the month. |
