1999 Batting averages
In the 1999 season the captains of both teams topped the averages. Simon Legge and Nick Clarke both won the batting awards for the 1998 season and again came out top in 1999.

Alliance Averages
Simon Legge had an very successful season, his match-winning innings against Badby was the start of Heyford''s season. He topped that with two unbeaten centuries and was the leading force in Heyford's batting line-up. Phil Cowley was again solid, he performed well despite suffering with injury throughout part of the season, Julian Rice was also useful at no. 4, he often got stuck into the bowling. Matt Baker had an excellent season, he batted very well at No. 3 for most of the season. The tail-end despite failing on a few occasions provided good entertainment especially the boundaries from Chris Peck.

Sunday Side Averages
Left-Hander Nick Clarke, the captain lead by example, his runs were vital and was in great form at the start of the season. There were encouraging signs from many supporting players, it was especially good to see young Thomas Whittaker scoring well over 200 Sunday runs in only his second season of competitive cricket. The youth was matched by experience, players like Graham Cardwell and Geoff Sturgess gave the Sunday team a solid opening and prevented any collapses seen in the `98 season. Nick Inwood, who has always shown great potential performed better this season with some solid batting. Heyford were disappointed to lose Danny Golden through the second-half of the season after some excellent early-season form.
