Welcome back to the third edition of the Pain Tolerance column. We’ll before I get started, I’d just like to apologize for not having a column last week. Hope you all enjoy, and if you don’t? Well you can always e-mail and give me your opinion on what you liked/disliked about it. Anyway, with out further a due. Here it is.

Now, this week I’m basically just going to talk about two main issues that have been bugging me as of late. First off, what the hell is up with the WWF? Are they totally mentally handicapped? How many times have we seen a big challenger versus Stone Cold, with a special referee and other odds stacked against him? About a million times now. It’s starting to really get annoying. Just last night on Sunday Night Heat Shane McMahon announced himself as the special guest referee to the Undertaker Vs. Steve Austin match up at "Over The Edge." Please dear god, WWF just have a normal match for once. We saw Austin over come Vince McMahon as a ref, we’ve seen Austin over come, Vince as referee, Pat and Jerry as ring announcer and time keeper. We’ve even seen Austin get screwed by Shane at Survivor Series 98, then we saw at "Back Lash"  Shane as special referee. It’s like the WWF is becoming to comfortable at the number one spot, just as WCW did, and look what happened. WCW crumbled into the ground. The WWF needs to whoa their crowd for a good couple of months, then pull off a mediocre month, and get right back at it. The WWF has been slacking as of late, as you can see from the ratings, as WCW is beginning to draw some attention. It’s basically came down to, whether you want Wrestling, or Story Lines. It’s obvious the WWF isn’t going to come down off the mountain and try and restore their wrestling atmosphere, because as you can see, the story lines are beating the WCW pure wrestling to a bloody pulp.

Now, onto my second pain of wrestling lately. WCW’s tag team division. WCW made a big hoopla about their new revised Tag Team Division, yet when you turn on Nitro, or Thunder, you see a bunch of no bodies putting on a half assed show. Master Blasters? The Armstrong’s? How bout you begin pairing real talent and not just some guys who will wrestle for a dinner that night. There were big talks on the internet about WCW reforming a Free Birds type gimmick with Raven, Saturn and Kanyon. It doesn’t seem like that’s likely to happen anytime soon, since recent reports have been stating Saturn asked for some time off. But they still have Malenko and Benoit, they still have Windham and Hennig, hell, they even got Kidman and Mysterio Jr. Although I haven’t been pleased with the tag team division in WCW, I must admit, I’ve been very pleased with the heavy weight division. So what if they have DDP as the Champ, look at the crowd heat he’s getting when he’s going out there. He doesn’t even have to open his mouth, and he’s getting booed at.

Now with the column out of the way, it’s time for your input. This is where you, the readers can have your say. I have decided I will run a poll each week. As you can tell, from the poll I ran last week, I wanted to relate it to this week’s column. Last week’s poll was. If you were WCW tag team champion and your partner just got injured, who would you choose as your new partner be? The top chosen wrestler was Buff Bagwell….here are some of the reader responses.

I would choose Buff Bagwell.  He's proven many times to be an excellent tag-team partner, he's in great physical shape, he's all over with the crowd and I could get the groupies that follow him. There would be nothing better.

If I had to pick a tag team partner in the WCW I would choose Rick Steiner.  My reasons are that he's got years of experience being a tag team wrestler, and Steiner has always been a stead-fast companion to whomever he was with, if his partner was in trouble he helped even if he also received a beating. In addition he has good moves and would work well as a teammate.

I would pick Chris Benoit.  I believe he his the most intense wrestler they have.  Whether he is a heel or good guy, he stays the same.  I think it is a shame that WCW does not give him a belt and let him keep it. I think he is one of the most under rated wrestlers they have.

Thanks to all for participating. Now, this week’s poll is. The WWF has been getting a lot of heat due to having The Godfather as the IC champion. If you were a WWF booker, whowould you declare the new Intercontinental Champion?  As always remember to tell me WHY you would choose whoever you happen to choose. Next week I will post some of the your choices, as always remember to send your choices to me at [email protected]
