Welcome back to another edition of the Pain Tolerance column. Before I get started, I’d just like to send my condolences out to the first Canadian wrestling family, the Harts, who must be going through a tough time right now, with Owen’s tragic death last night at Over the Edge, as well as Davey Boy’s spinal infection. It’s truly sad to see a wrestler die like that, and it must have been horrifying for the younger children in the arena, LIVE when it happened. So before I go on, this week’s column is dedicated to Owen Hart, and the Hart family.

This week, I’d like to talk about a few things. Of course Owen’s death. Triple H’s "out of the blue" rise to the top, and finally Over the Edge I general, and should the WWF stopped the show when Owen died?

Owen’s death is very tragic indeed, but this may change some minds about the WWF. Remember the rumors of Bulldog about to sign a contract with the WWF? Has his heart changed now, and will he just retire? Chris Jericho. If you listened to the LAW wrestling radio show last night,Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit were both on to talk about Owen. Will this accident in the WWF change Jericho’s mind of a jump? I surely hope not. Getting back to the OTE incident. Was that grand entrance for the "Blue Blazer" really necessary? I don’t think so. Also, I know Owen just passed away, but what is up with some of you people online? For months, you’ve downed Owen. But now that he’s passed away tragically you jump on the band wagon? Were you the same with Rick Rude?

Anyway, getting onto a more joyous occasion. Triple H after last Monday, in my eyes is destined to take the title from Austin sooner or later. I’ve been a big fan of Triple H’s since he joined the WWF back in 1995 as the Greenwich snob. I really wish they would have let Triple H get a clean pin on The Rock last night, but I guess they have to keep The Rock in the standings. Also, judging by the Mankind - Triple H altercation during an interview segment backstage last night at Over the Edge, I’d say we’re going see a Triple H Vs. Mankind feud for awhile. That should be interesting.

Now, with Over the Edge out of the way, and a LIVE RAW tonight, what will the WWF do for Owen Hart? I just hope to god they just don’t have the ten tolls of the bell. That was okay for Brian Pillman, since he wasn’t in the WWF for a long time, and also he passed away of natural causes, not like
Owen who was tragically killed. Also, Owen has been in the WWF for ten to eleven straight years. Never got any higher then as the Intercontinental Champion. You could even say Owen was the Franchise of the WWF. He brought spectacular moves and skills to the ring, he was there for ten odd years, never jumped to another federation, and always did what was best for the WWF.  The WWF has received a lot of heat with them continuing the card after Owen’s tragic and untimely death. I can see why people are steaming mad at the WWF for continuing, but people have to keep in mind, the WWF was doing a live broadcast in front of 18 000 or so people. As sick as it sounds, some of those fans would have screamed bloody murder if the WWF hadn’t of kept going, also, with all the paying fans on Viewer’s Choice as well as the WWF’s angles they set up that night, that needed to continue, like the new champion Undertaker defeating Austin with a quick count. The WWF had a multimillion dollar pay-per-view going on, and there was just no way possible to send the fans home with only two or three matches completed.

Now with the column out of the way, it’s time for your input. This is where you, the readers can have your say. I have decided I will run a poll each week.

Last week’s poll was, Who would you pick as your new IC champion out of the WWF roster.  Sadly some of your responses are out dated now since Owen was picked by a few of you.

If I had to choose another IC champ besides the Godfather, who I think is a darn good IC champ, I would have to go with Val Venis.  I think Val has done proven he has a good enough fan base to win a longer stint as the IC champ and him becoming champ will only help his future with the WWF.

I think that Test should hold the Intercontinental Title, he has been around for awhile now and never got a title shot at anything, he is coming over with the fans now with this new Union thing, and he is a very, very good wrestler. Also I think that Goldust should have at least held the IC Title
until Backlash he won it and lost like in a week.

If I had to choose one guy who deserves the IC strap and still has not held it (or held any other gold either) is Gangrel. Gangrel is one of the most electrifying guys in wrestling, his gimmick is awesome, his entrance is to cool, he has the Brood to back him up and help him win matches too.

For this week’s interact, my most memorable moment of Owen Hart would have to be when he was battling Bulldog on RAW, and Bret came out, and reunited himself, Owen and Bulldog to form the new Hart Foundation. Also another memorable moment was after Bret had won the WWF Championship at WM10, Owen came out, Macho Man invited him in but Owen just stood in the aisle way staring at his brother.

Now, with the tragic death of Owen Hart, please send me your most memorable Owen Hart moment, match or interview whatever it was. Next week I will post some of the your responses, as always remember to send your response to me at [email protected]
