| Welcome
back to another edition of the Pain Tolerance column. This week’s
column will mainly concern some controversial happenings with Owen’s funeral,
Sable suing the WWF for 100+ million, King of the Ring thoughts, and to
top it off, opinions on the identity of the higher power, the most asked
question in wrestling history.
It’s
been a two weeks, now since Owen’s tragic death in Kansas City, and throughout
those two weeks, some controversial things have happened. With the Kansas
police coming to the conclusion that Owen most likely pulled the cord to
soon, as well as some faults with his costume, the cape to be more specific.
Then just this past Monday he was laid to rest for good in Calgary, Alberta
with thousands of people
showing
up to support him, as well as hundreds of WWF employees and all sorts of
names from past and present from the wrestling world. Then, the rumors
started of Vince personally phoning the Hart family to ask their own permission
for the WWF to use the Blue Blazer costume and gimmick. Would Vince be
that insincere and sink that low? Absolutely not, as that rumored has been
killed, yet some people still claim Vince made the phone call. Then once
that rumor died down, then Slam Wrestling at canoe.ca
(http://www.canoe.ca/SlamWrestling/home.html)
brought forth letters from Martha Hart, and Vince McMahon, showing Vince
asking for permission to show pictures or clips of the funeral. Which again
some people say is sickening, yet some say they were okay with it. Why
does it make it okay for a news station to broadcast images, but not the
WWF where the man was employed for the past ten odd years? I didn’t think
it was in bad taste, and for a lot of people, they did not get to see it,
since some new stations in the States didn’t broadcast it.
Now,
does Sable actually think she has enough of a case to get 100+ million
out of this? I seriously think some of those "terrible" bumps she was talking
about, have actually knocked her out of reality. If you didn’t know, she
stated to several news reporters that the WWF provided an unsafe working
environment by making her climb to the top rope. To my knowledge I never
saw her climb to the top rope ever. Also, if she ever did, it was during
a match and she was a wrestler at that time, so how the hell does she get
off with that? She also said the WWF pushed her to appear in degrading
nude photos. Yes, the WWF influenced her to do it, but they didn’t have
a gun to her head nor did she have to do the photos, hell she’s even doing
them for a second time coming in August. Now, with this huge lawsuit on
the WWF’s hands, where do they go from here with Marc Mero? Well the guy
has been off for almost eight months if I can remember so what exactly
do they do with him? He’s Sable’s husband in real life, and obviously plays
a part with Sable suing the WWF in some way. I really doubt when he’s completely
recovered, you’ll
be
seeing him in a WWF ring. He’ll probably try to sign with WCW, or maybe
look for employment in ECW. Paul Heyman could do something good with him,
I bet.
Now,
King of the Ring. One of the most unique wrestling tournaments ever. We
basically all know whoever wins the KOTR, goes on to be a major player
and a main event in the WWF. Honestly, I don’t know what the WWF is attempting
to do with Chyna. Why she beat Val Venis is beyond me. She’s already proven
she can take on the men and beat them. So why put her in the KOTR?
It’ll be kind of degrading to the KOTR tournament nameif she makes it all
the way, since KOTR has been the stage for the warm up act, or mid carders
in that way, take that step onto center stage and battle the big names
within the company for the most prestigious title in the company, the World
Wrestling Federation Heavy Weight Championship. Now, for my prediction,
I am going to have to go with The Big Show Paul Wight. The WWF can’t just
push him into the main eventsince he’s only been there for a short while,
but winning the KOTR tournament would be a great stepping stone for this
guy to go on and feud with whoever the champion is, at the closing of Summer.
Now
everyone wants to know who the Higher Power of the Undertaker’s is. Well
no one knows for sure. But everyone is speculating on who it will be. A
lot of people have been stating HBK, or Vince, while some people think
it’s Jake Roberts or Linda McMahon or Stephanie McMahon. Like manyother
times the WWF has me left in the dark on this one. Everyone can speculate
but until the Higher Power unveils
himself
or herself on RAW, no one will know for sure. However, I am going to make
three guesses. First I think it’s a strong possibility it’s Brian Lee,
formally known as Chainz. Also, I’m guessing it could be The Ultimate Warrior,
and finally, Papa Shongo. It most likely won’t be any of those people,
but oh well. Everyone will find out tonight at 9pm on RAW.
Now,
last week’s interact was, "What was your Favorite Owen Hart moment." Here
are a few of the replies.

I
will never forget when Owen wrestled his brother Bret in the opener at
Wrestlemania X. Although that PPV will be known for the ladder match,
and rightfully so, Owen pinning Bret is a vivid memory. They put
on a clinic in technical wrestling that is sorely lacking in today's wrestling
world.

My
most memorable moment was when he turned his back on Ken Shamrock and joined
the nation. this was just a push that never worked, the WWF apparently
gave up but he kept going with it trying every night to try to get over.
Second was the Dungeon match with Shamrock when he hit him with the barbell
and we got to see the infamous dungeon. Or the Lions Den match when
he was totally out of his element, but he put on one of the greatest shows
ever. I'll always remember him for these and want to thank him for
them. R.I.P. Owen We'll always love you.

Now
this week’s poll is, now with sable out of the WWF, and Debra not defending
the Woman’s title. Who in professional wrestling do you think, would make
a good female champion. Remember it can be any female in wrestling today.
