The Picture above was a big step for me, I had gotten very friendly with a girl at work (she was one of the imported chefs, who'd came out at work as gay), after spending a lot of time with her and her partner I got to trust her and finally told her I was gay (she did have an idea, as I was quite often going to a local Dyke Bar with them, and just new a bit much about Gay Chats & Sites as they discovered when they got connected, huh & here's me thinking I was very straight acting. After I told them we went to Mardi Gras Parade 1998, I felt very comfortable, we had been to fair day, and I had bought leather jeans & shirt, I always wanted leather jeans! (this is the beginning of work getting the idea I was gay, as we bumped into a few other lesbians from work, and one gay guy from work, they talked!) Sav was coming up to Sydney from Melbourne, for a few days I was taking Paul to the Mardi Gras Parade, along with Clare & Sandra (the girl from work)
The Hair
Well Clare gave me some Orange fudge to put streaks in my hair, the hairdresser had other ideas and bleached my hair and made it iridescent orange he he he, but I liked it in the end! BUT it didn't quite come out in the 15 washes it was supposed to, nor did it come out in the 30 or 40 washes I gave it (I had took a week off work for the parade etc), so I had to go back to work with orange hair, this sort of confirmed the now suspicious workmates, (oh!! The earring in the right ear didn't help) naïve me didn't know there was a gay & a straight ear, I got the right one done as I'm useless with my left hand, it was for ease of removal!! SEE THE OUTFIT! (yours truly in Leather..) But anyway I was getting to the stage of I don't give a shit what they think! Everyone thinks I am Gay but I haven't confirmed OR denied anything quite frankly I don't feel I need to tell them, or scream it to the world there only workmates after all. I'd probably have more gay friends if I did though Star City is Gay City!
Another big Learning Curve was approaching, probably the most influential in who I am today
