Submitting Characters

A PBEM is played by a group of players. Similar to the traditional role-playing games, players write �posts� via e-mail describing their character�s actions and reactions to the game world. A GM creates plot lines, and acts as a �director�, when necessary intervening to ensure the smooth playing of the game.

The Risa game has some mature themes in it, and is based around deviant/ criminal actions. Consequently the GM takes no responsibility for the actions portrayed in game, and clearly states they should not be repeated in real life. As a further caveat it is preferable that players should be 15 or older, if you feel you may be offended by these postings, I recommend you try more of the mainstream games in the AQSG. 

Glossary

POSTING : An e-mail, of varying length, describing a characters actions and interactions.

IC : Short for in-character -normally at the start of a posting to indicate that the posting has began

OOC: Non-character comments, either asking for clarification, or general commentary.

Reply: Generally followed by a character name - normally another player puts this in to indicate they desire a response from other characters  present.

Posting Rules.

1. Non-game messages should be kept to a minimum. Preferably these should be placed at the end of messages.

2. All plot lines affecting major alterations to either characters or the game should be cleared with the GM (e-mail)

3. The GM�s decision are final with regard to plot changes when there is doubt as to circumstance. Additionally the GM reserves the right to remove a player who breaks the rules from the list.

4. Remember that the group may be viewed by a wide range of players and lurkers. Players should bear this in mind when posting. This is especially true of OOC Comments.

5. Any players posting offensive OOC�s will be warned, and then removed from the list. Any player making racist comments will be instantly removed and reported to the AQSG - this may prevent you from playing in other AGSQ sites.

6. Any OOC disputes should be directed to the GM for arbitration, rather than carried over the list.

7. The GM holds the right to be an arbitrary, contrary smart-arse at all times.

8. Postings should begin with the following, Character, location, present with.

Desired Information when submitting your characters.

Please read the timeline, it explains the situation. Initially the characters will all be in Lightholler�s gang. Any race in the startrek canon is fine, but detailed links to major characters are not permitted. Most members of the gangs on planet will be unlinked to the Orion syndicate, and should be mildly less talented than we see in the startrek multi-verse. Characters can be as scheming and disloyal as you desire. 

In your submission emails, the obvious such as character name, history, personality and notable skills are desired. In addition your previous sim history, and experience of role-playing is desirable, although not a prerequisite to playing.
