Shito or Angels. Powerful beings of unknown origin who possess a myriad of forms and special abilities. For some unknown reason, they only attack in intervals and not at the same time. And they only attack Tokyo-3 where NERV HQ is based. They can regenerate damaged parts at fair speed. Conventional weaponry cannot harm these "God's Messengers" because of their A.T. Field (absolute terror field) which gives them maximum protection. The only way to defeat them is through hand-to-hand combat. The Angels weak point is the core, when destroyed, the Angel ceases all function. This core also acts as the power source of the Angels, much like the umbilical cable which supplies power to the Evangelions.
