Kurama is originally an youkai. He was born between the youkos, the fox demon people. He had golden eyes and silver hair. In his youko form, he is very tall and beautiful. He could also transform himself in the kitsune form, in which he is a fox with many tails... He became a thief when he grew up, and was very famous for his power and ability to control plants and his briskness.

With his partner Kuronue, an youkai with black hair and big wings, he loved to steal things. But then his partner had died in one of their 'missions' and some time later, he was injured by a hunter. His soul traveled to the Ningenkai and entered into an woman's womb.

So, he passed to live with the humans, growing up like a normal child, whose name was Shuiichi Minamino, with his red wild hair and his deep green eyes, but he had all his memory of who was he in truth.

One day, he was about fourteen eyars old he knew Hiei, and the two became friends. (for more info, go to The people who are important to Kurama...)

Later, when he was older, something between 15 or 16 years old, he met Hiei again and both of them stole the three Reikai Treasures. Kurama accepted to steal the objects because he wanted the save his mother's life with the Mirror of the Spiritual World, that would realize any desire of the owner.

Yusuke saw when the youko was giving his life to the Mirror to save his mother's one, and gave his life too, in order to help Kurama to survive because he didn't want to see how Shuiichi's mother would feel if her beloved son had died.

Kurama, as youko was very rude and cold. But when he came to live with the ningens, he learned how to love. He cares too much for his mother and after knowing Yusuke and Kuwabara, he learned to like the humans more and more.

He passed to help Yusuke in his missions for friendship and became a Koenma's  reikai-tentei  too.

He's very intelligent, kind and calm with everyone, but he can be very cruel in other cases too...See what happened to Toguro's brother...^_^
