All things Science Fiction
I'll admit it, I'm a sci-fi/fantasy junkie. What follows is my somewhat pathetic collection of links. All of them are for TV shows, I read very little hard sf. Check out my books page to get the scoop on my reading habits.
I'm a sucker for a good story, and most science fiction offers that and more. Check out the links below to see what I like in the sci-fi world. If you're really into boring legalese, then read the copyright disclaimers that the lawyers say I have to use.
The X-Files | Star Wars |
Babylon 5 | Deep Space 9
I really love this show. It has everything I consider important in a TV show: good (looking) actors, writing, music and that je ne sais quoi that turns a good show into an addictive one.
Content? People with much more talent (and time) have put together such beautiful and informative pages that anything I could do would look dinky, and worse, stupid. So, I'm going to show you some of my favorite XF sites.
Once a week not enough for you? Do you ever wonder how the X-Files characters would interact with those from other shows? Are you a closet romantic? (Guilty as charged) Then fanfic is for you! Please note: Archive sites are ever-changing. Some have come under the Gossamer umbrella, others have moved. This list reflects the best of my knowledge at the time this page was constructed. If the link you've followed is dead, first please let me know, then head over to the Gossamer Project Links page. They should have the current URL.
After the original fanfic site at Ohio State shut down, an ever-growing network of mirrors and speciality archoves have sprung up in it's place. The main site is in Australia, and is maintained by my dearest cyber-brother, Adam. The above link will take you to a page with every Gossamer archive as well as a whole bunch of author's pages.
Queer XF - The Index of Gay-Themed X-Files Fanfiction
I hope this is self-explaintory. Be warned, this site contains some erotica. If you're under eighteen or can't read that stuff, stay away.
Autoerotic Asphixiation - The X-Files Erotica Archive
Again, I hope this is self-explanitory. The above warning applies
I think that a lot of the success of The X-Files is due to the two leads. They bring something to the roles of Mulder and Scully... The only way I can put it is that I can't see anyone playing the except David and Gillian. Does that make any sense?
There are lots of fan sites out there, but there are only a few that I hang out at regularly.

Star Wars came out the year I was born. In fact, I was minus a few months. I grew up with SW, and it shows. I own nearly all of the books, as well as the boxed re-release of the original films. However, I'm not much of an online fan. I know that there are scads of sites, official and not, but I just don't know about them. I associate SW with books, not web pages. Old fashioned? Maybe. But, damnit, I like it like that!
Having said that, I do know where the Official Site is, and I know that the Fan Fiction on the Net has a few links to fan sites.

I started watching this show recently, and I'm hooked already. The Lurkers Guide to Babylon 5 has been an immense help to me. This site is incredibly well-maintained, with cast lists, actor info, season-by-season plot breakdowns, episode summaries, and a comprehensive index of other sources of information on and off-line.
The The Encyclopedia Xenobiologica is a great reasource on the species and back plot of B5.
The Official Site is graphics-heavy and not very newbie-friendly, but it does feature photos and sound clips.

DS9 is another show I don't associate with the net. I was a Star Trek fan long before I got online, so I don't look for information online, I look for books and magazines.
Again, I know that Fan Fiction on the Net has a bunch of fanfic links, and a search through Yahoo will turn up umpity-bazillon fan sites, but my bookmark file is long enough already!
