FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SKANE AGAIN..!!!

FULL NOVICE RACE REPORT>

19/08/99 -- Steve Skane, pole-sitter in Zandvoort raced off the grid with Ian Robertson and Tony Clarke

in close attendance.  A blistering first lap saw Skane's Lotus lead into Lap 2, just over two seconds in

front of Tony Clarke who had got past Ian Robertson's Eagle who was narrowly ahead of John Lach.

Steve Peake a further 4 seconds adrift ..7 tenths of a second in front of Daniel Pelzer,, ex-Brabham

driver, John Pelzer in the Ferrari leading Flowers, Rothbart and Magyar through.  Skane continued in

the lead on lap three with Robertson diving under Clarke, a mere one tenth seperating the pair with Lach fourth and Daniel Pelzer, four tenths in front of Peake with John Pelzer, Flowers , Rothbart and Magyar

next.  Lap 4 saw Skane increase his lead over Robertson who was under attack from Clarke who was

less than 2 seconds in arrears.  John Lach comfortable in fourth with Daniel Pelzer desperately holding

off a persistent Steve Peake. John Pelzer next with Lynn Flowers following and Lou Magyar now ahead of

Paul Rothbart after a small error by the Coventry driver.  Lap five saw the leading four places unchanged,

Skane, Robertson. Clarke, Lach  but with Steve Peake in the Honda forcing the Cooper of Daniel Pelzer

to run slightly wide and seizing the chance to go ahead. John Pelzer still trailed some 7 seconds behind

with Flowers next and Rothbart once again in front of Magyar, the Cooper driver fighting to keep the

drifting car on the track.  Lap six continued on with no change in positions throughout the field with

most drivers settling into a more consistent lap time.  Lap 7 and Robertson was now only 2 seconds

behind the leader with Clarke 3 seconds behind, Lach still fourth with Peake in front of Daniel Pelzer,

less than a second separating the pair. John Pelzer, Lynn Flowers and Paul Rothbart and Lou Magyar

still circulating with the leaders now closing in.  Lap 8 saw Skane cross the line for the win to add to his

pole and fastest race lap with Robertson second, Clarke close behind in third with Lach holding fourth

and Peake holding off Daniel Pelzer by just over half a second.  John Pelzer, Flowers, Rothbart and

Magyar bringing their respective machines home.
