The Very Beginning
Vandalism I very happily drove my Impala from 1965 until 1983 when we decided it was time for me to have a more dependable car. While my son, Mike, was using the Impala, he was asked if he would sell it. He explained that it didn't belong to him, and therefor, he couldn't sell it. The following morning he found my Impala with a smashed windshield and driver's window. How sad some people can be!
We had the Impala towed home and decided we would start a "Stock" restoration. We spent many hours searching for the parts and supplies we would need. Many suppliers were used, but we found many of our parts through: "Late Great Chevys" and "CARS." Mike and his friends spent many hours taking the Impala apart, and then putting it back together. Finally the night came to start the engine, and try a test drive. How excited we all were. Restoration
Test Drive Mike and Larry, the "Chief Restorers" were the first to drive around the block. Family, friends, and neighbors were in the street to welcome them back. It was my turn next. I had both grandchildren with me as we went for our "spin" around the block. What a great night that was! The fun was just beginning!
