KrakowCity We left the border for Krakow, crossing former german Schlesien on a Motorway build by Reichsarbeitsdienst (a Nazi Project of "volunteer" labour nowadays reinvented by the Community of Leipzig called "Arbeit statt Sozialhilfe" - that means no welfare paying without volunteer labour). According to W.Churchill's autobiographies it is just an curious misunderstanding on geographical terms at the Conference of Yalta that Schlesien went to Poland. Sir Winston wrote that he thought Oder-Neisse meant the Glatzer Neisse not the Lausitzer Neisse, seams that Uncle Joe have had better maps. After all it looks like a fortune on the Germans, regarding the Steel and Mining Crisis at the Saar and Ruhr in the mid seventeens.

The Motorway is in a very bad condition, we had enormous troubles to miss the speedlimit of 110 km/h, luckily we had no troubles with the local authorities in Poland, this time. Compared with german traffic fees Poland still is a cheap place for vacation.

So we reached Krakow without any unexpected stops - and passed it. We've been there before, otherwise it's better not to miss the grandiose City with it's old University, Churches, Castles and young, but even interesting, Girls.
