Want to know what's been happening at The Tangled Web? This is what happened between October of 1999 and July of 2000.
July 30, 2000 -- I have been in the process of removing explicit HTML formatting for fonts and such from these pages in favor of cascading stylesheets. By now, most people use at least a version 4.0 browser. From what I've seen of the statistics for people visiting this site, most of you will continue to see things the right way. If you notice anything strange looking, please let me know. Also, let me know if you find any broken links. I think I've found most of them, but you know how it is.
June 22, 2000 -- I've been very remiss in not adding the PSP Interactive Zone to my Memberships page. That oversight has been corrected now. If you use PaintShop Pro, either as a professional graphic designer or as a hobbyist, you should check this place out. It is a wonderful place to share with other PSP users.
June 20, 2000 -- You really wouldn't believe how busy I've been! Right after I posted the last news, I changed jobs... again! Not really as major a change as it sounds, though. I was working for mpl2.com at Microsoft and now I'm working for Microsoft. I became a full-time employee on April 3rd and haven't looked back since. I'm working with the same group, it's really only my status that changed.
I was beginning to create some FrontPage themes but discovered that FrontPage themes don't work perfectly with all browsers. Most notably, Netscape 4.x and earlier ignore the background. I've temporarily given up on FrontPage themes but have been working on some other sets that I'm sure you will like. Look for them in about two weeks when I get back from New York.
March 9, 2000 -- I added yet another user to the parlor. There is also a new goodie, called a "Siglet" that I just added to my Miscellaneous page. Take a look. I'm sure it will give you a groan, if not a laugh.
March 6, 2000 -- Wow! A new year has gotten started. If you wonder where I've been, I've been busy creating and maintaining some new web sites and learning new skills. I have created a new HTML tutorial, called Creating a Photo Album with Microsoft FrontPage 2000 and I have also extensively updated the tutorial No Place Like Home which has information about free web hosting services. No new graphic sets, but I will have some shortly and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. You should also check out the Parlor where I have added two new users.
October 16, 1999 -- Finally got around to creating a new tutorial. Don't get too excited though, it's incredibly simple. Have you ever wanted to create outlined text or graphics using PaintShop Pro?
October 12, 1999 -- What a lot there is to say. First, I finally have a new set for you. It's nothing fancy, but it's been so long since I've had either time to sit down and play that it was a pleasure to be able to produce anything. The set is called Shades of Green 3 and it takes advantage of the layer effects provided by Photoshop 5.
I apologize that I haven't been keeping up the place lately. Many strange things have been happening and I guess it's time I got caught up and went back to work. The last thing I mentioned here was the fact that I was moving from my home in Narrowsburg, New York to Port Jervis, New York in order to be closer to the place I work. We did move but I never got a chance to get settled in. I decided to look for another job and ended up all the way across the country in Washington! No, not Washington, DC, the state of Washington.
My new employer is a contracting firm called MPL2.com and I have been contracted out to Microsoft. My current contract involves writing programmer's documentation and sample applications for ADO (Active Data Objects). I haven't been doing much in the evenings for many months now, but I'm beginning to have the engergy and the time to get back into maintaining this site. To those of you who have been patient enough not to write me off for good, I say "Thanks!" It will probably take a while to get back in the swing of things, but I hope to maybe even have a few surprises up my sleeve in the next couple of weeks.
