Update LogJavaScript code HTML code Regular text For his contributions to AlienResources.com, Stephen has been promoted from consultant to President of Twin Cities Operations, President of Web Design, and Co-Webmaster. He has completely overhauled the site, getting rid of the frames and replacing them with tables. That's about three weeks of work, and from here out we'd really like to get the company started. That's all for now, 4/23/01 7:49 PM CDT -- Updates, from Mike The end of frames has begun. The business home was my guinea pig for this experiment, and I like the results, so I am going to try to put all pages in tables from here out, which could take quite a while. Other than my new tables experiment, I'd like to announce that we are going to be clearing out the ranks here. We have made no money, and we (Jay, John, and myself) have decided it is time to cut down the AR workforce. I'll be announcing the destroyed jobs in the next few days. Until next time, 4/13/01 12:22 AM CDT -- Updates, from Mike Wow...I've just totally changed the layout of the site. I've also made the list picking page. I'll be back next week to work on the Fun and Business homepages. 4/12/01 10:58 PM CDT -- Update and News, from Mike This is the first official update, although Jay and I have both done a few things. Tonight, I uploaded another playlist and I am starting to make plans for the next era in AlienResources history. I would like to divide the site into two sections - a business section and a fun/leisure section. To make the initial divide, I think that -- for now at least -- I will just make an opening page that asks the user what they want to go to. Eventually, I'd like to have a Flash introduction, but I have neither the time nor the expertise to begin such an undertaking. Enjoy the changes. 2/6/01 6:28 PM CMT -- Update, from Mike I've made a few changes to the left frame, removed some dead links, and did a little troubleshooting. 1/23/01 9:03 PM CMT -- News and Update, from Mike The news is that I've made a new company email address, [email protected], because we are moving away from AOL. And the update is changing the email stuff so that it is sent to the proper address. 1/22/01 9:32 PM CMT -- Semi-Update, from Mike I regret to say that our chat service is temporarily unavailable, though I am in the process of updating. The provider is not allowing us to update just yet though, so bear with me. 1/18/01 4:35 PM CMT -- Update, from Mike Tweaked the left frame image, so now there is no repeat of the image and no scroll bar, which was the original goal. 1/16/01 3:52 PM CMT -- Response, from Mike The image resize is a good idea, but I for one have neither the tools or the expertise to edit it. If you can come up with a plausible solution, we can use it. And in reply to your "what next" question, I have not a clue. Since I have finals this week, it'll have to wait. 1/15/01 8:54 PM CMT -- Recommendation, from Stephen In reference to the right frame background image, its a very nice image people, but the page doesn't really need the entire image, I say we either crop it so browsers don't have to load the full image, and/or reduce the quality of it. 1/14/01 1:19 PM CMT -- News, from Stephen I redid the left frame, again, now if you resize your browser, the links will always be perfect. The only thing that remains now is the question, "What next?" 1/13/01 5:42 PM CMT -- News, from Stephen Guess who just perfected the stupid frameset? Me, yippee. I also added a temporary david's page cause we have a bad looking mislink. 1/13/01 12:42 AM CMT -- Update, from Mike I've gone through to some key links and added the target="_blank" attribute to the a href tag. Stephen and I are vigorously going about getting the word out about AlienResources. To do so, we resubmitted the site to about 100 search engines and added meta tags so there is something for the search engine spiders to look for. This will probably be my last update for the night. ^Mike^ Look at previous updates by clicking here. |
