Carmine had already booked studio time, so we
went to work on an album immediately, even though Carmine hadn't finished
writing all the material. However, when Carmine is inspired he works
at incredible speed, and he was inspired. By the time we finished
recording we had laid down enough tracks for, not one, but two albums.
As if all this wasn't enough, early in October Carmine
received a call from Chuckie Barnes, asking Carmine to produce his new
"comeback" album. Chuckie had had a very popular, if somewhat short,
career back in the late '50s and early '60s. Carmine had met him
almost ten years previously when Carmine was working for Dion on the oldies
circuit. Carmine jumped at the opportunity.
When Tony heard about it, he asked to be involved.
Tony is a huge fan of Chuckie's and had dreamed of working with him for
years. Chuckie didn't have a band so Carmine recruited members of the Renegades,
the Source and the Buzz. Between Chuckie's, Carmine's, and Tony's songs,
once again there were enough tracks recorded for two albums.
