Saturday 14th November 1998 - This change sees a couple of new sections on the general gadgets page, - they are on Fun Downloadable Gadgets and Online Diaries. Remember those useful multi-search engines that send your search to several search engines in one go? Well I've just discovered two more, and you'll find links to them in the Search Engines section. Finally for the general gadgets page, there are a couple of new links to UK rail & road Journey Planners.
On the Webmaster's page, there's one new section on Links Page Hosting, there are a couple of new links in the Survey Forms section, and there's a new way of promoting your site with details of a "Tell your friend about this site" form in the Website Promotion section, there is also a working example of this service on this page here.
A few sections marked "updated" have had minor changes made to them (eg removal of dead links.)
Finally, in order to unclutter the homepage, I have moved all of my Awards onto their own Awards Page.
Monday 3rd August 1998 - No new sections this time, but there are additional link(s) in these sections - Remailer Service (Anonymous Email), Webpage Statistics, URL Redirection, Emailing Lists, and Website Promotion. There's a corrected URL in the Internet "Postcards" section. Some dead links have been removed from the following sections:- Free Email Providers, Webpage Timer and Miscellaneous. Finally there are a few minor changes to some of the administrative bits on the homepage, namely the Survey Results, Statistics, Vote For This Page and the Disclaimer.
Monday 8th June - Added a new Vote For This Page section.
Sunday 31st May - Applied to join the Ring of Free Stuff and Free Stuff Webrings.
Saturday 30th May - This update sees the long awaited splitting up of this site into smaller units. It's suprising how many code changes are needed just to break down a page, so if you find any links that no longer work, or other errors, please let me know.
The items that are on this page tend to fall into 2 categories - Those that are of interest to all net users, and those that are of interest only to webmasters, so this is how I have broken the page down - A Webmasters Page, a General Gadgets Page, plus a homepage with all the administrative stuff on. Where something overlaps the 2 categories (e.g. The URL Minder Service) it has been placed on the General Gadgets Page.
Other changes this time are fairly minor - I've added a Survey for a limited period only, so you can let me know what you think of the changes to this page. There is one addition and one removal from the Other Sites Linking To Free Internet Services. section, and the removed link has been moved to the Graphics Generators section.
Saturday 16th May - As this page has gradually got longer, it has become more difficult to navigate, so I have now added "Back to contents" links at the end of each section, I hope users will find this useful. I also intend to break the page down into several smaller pages in the near future, which should help further.
Changes this time are all of interest to webmasters, there are new sections on Banner Hosting, Local Search Engine, URL Redirection and Survey Forms. There are additional links in the Guestbooks, Message Boards, Website Promotion, and Internet "Postcards" sections. Finally, a dead link has been removed from theRemailer Service section.
Monday 4th May 1998. - Just a few changes this time, I've added several new links to the Website Maintenance section. There's one new section about Online Bookmark Files, and there are a few minor changes to the Website Promotion section.
Saturday 25th April 1998. - The major change this time is a change to the Website Promotion section, which includes several new links (obviously this is a subject I have been taking a lot of interest in recently!). There's a link to a great site I've just discovered that contains forms for many different free services all on one site, you'll find a link to this site in the Miscellaneous section. There's a new link plus one moved link in Other Sites Linking To Free Internet Services. There's one new category this time about a Webpage Timer. Finally, there are minor changes (though some include an extra link) to the Graphics Generators, Message Boards, Guestbooks, Emailing Lists and Webpage Statistics sections.
Saturday 4th April 1998. - No actual content changes this time, but I have moved Webpage Statistics nearer the top of the page (since stats services work better when placed nearer the top of pages). I have also had to make a number of "administrative" type changes to the HTML code, though these don't actually change the appearance of this page.
Sunday 29th March 1998. - Since I have spent most of the last week trying to promote this page, most updates this time concern things that will be of interest to webmasters. I have added several new items to the Website Promotion section and there is a new section about Website Maintenance. The introductory blurb in the Webpage Statistics section has been updated, as a result of me having started using such services, but there are no new links. The section titled Banner Generator has been renamed Graphics Generators, and an additional link has been added. Finally, something for non-webmasters, I've added an additional link to the Internet "Postcards" section for a site that lets you send a music file with your card.
Saturday 21st March 1998. - This is the first "final" version of this page . The main change this time is the addition of a Reciprocal Links Page, if you'd like to swop links with me, see this section. This page is now registered with some Statistics services, and as a result, I've added some buttons to the Webpage Statistics section. I've also now joined Fortunecity's Hot In The City webring. Apart from that I've done a few "tidying up" changes, added a few graphics, moved/removed some links for various reasons, added a counter, corrected spelling, etc, etc .
I now need to spend some time promoting this site, so the next update may be a couple of weeks away.
