Welcome to The Pay By Hour / Pay To Surf Page

This weeks featured
service: UtopiAD
Last weeks featured
service: ValuePay

The following services pay you for every hour you're online. Some pay your to surf, some pay you no matter what you're doing, as long as you run their ad window. Below you will find a short review of each service so that you can decide which one(s) you like the best.

This concept has caught on like crazy. Last month there were new companies coming out every couple of days. Chances are that even the internet isn't big enough to support all of these companies. The good ones, though, will survive and then some (so, if you join more than one, you'll want to focus on the services with higher ratings.) AllAdvantage was the first to come up with it. They now have somewhere near 2 million members and are already starting to make themselves obscene amounts of money. We here at the 'Get Paid to be Online' page are aware that money is not whatsoever important in the overall scheme of things. Unfortunately, we are also aware that you can exchange it for all kinds of interesting things (your own private herd of bison, for instance.) So we're more than happy to let the services described on this page send us checks if they want to.

Rating System

New: We now have a rating system. One It's sort of a blue dollar sign, vaguely glowing off yellow is as bad as it gets. Five It's sort of a blue dollar sign, vaguely glowing off yellow's is the best. Ratings will change as services improve or as we discover scandalous things about them. Newer services automatically lose a point until they've been around long enough to prove they're serious.

More "Get Paid" Services

There are now so many of these companies we've added a third page for services rated three stars or less. Some of them are newer and could end up being really good, we'll have to wait and see. Click Here for page three.

Click here for more info AllAdvantage is the first and biggest of the "Get paid online" type services. You can check how much money you've made to date, and how many referrals you have, from their online member section. They pay $.50/hour for the time you're online with a monthly max of 40 hours ($20). They also pay for referrals to the program up to 4 levels deep, $.10/hour for 1st level and $.05/hour for the next 3 (referral income is not limited by your personal monthly maximum.) Despite a lot of early scepticism, AllAdvantage has done a great job of coming through for it's members. In fact, there are quite a few people who are already making over $5000 a month. Not too bad for a company that started in May, 1999. If you encounter any problem while you are trying to download the software, you can download the software over here

Click here for more info ePIPO was the fourth service to come out and it's looking like they might be the best. They have the same basic setup as AllAdvantage but they pay $.60/hour with a $30 monthly max (instead of $20.) They pay for referrals 5 levels deep, $.10/hour for all 5 levels (again, this is on top of your $30 personal max.) They have a great support staff and have account information online as of July 25th as well as a members forum. Their software is not out yet, they say it will be available in about a month (late September, early October) on a first come, first serve basis. The only downside of ePIPO is that, until the software comes out, they're not paying.

Click here to sign up These services are coming out so fast that the market has got to get flooded soon. This particular one, however, is worth a look. ValuePay is good because they are the first company to use that small area in the vicinity of the upper right corner of your browser to display ads. This means that the ads are very small, they don't get in your way and it's easy to run with another "pay to surf" program. We're not sure about the payment plan. It could be mediocre but it could also be very good. They pay you 50% of their ad income. They pay 10% for direct referrals and 5% for indirect up to five levels deep. This will probably work out about the same as a lot of the other services but it could be a lot more for targeted ads (if you fill out the survey.) It will probably be a little less at the beginning, though. Overall, if you're going to join more that one program, this one is a given.

Click here to sign up One of the newest services. Proof that this "Pay to Surf" concept is about the biggest thing the internet has ever seen. DesktopHorizon looks like a good one. They have a nice payment plan: $.60/hour, $.05/hour for first, second and third level referrals, $.10/hour for fourth and $.15/hour for fifth. They use the ad window set up and have the fairly usual $20 monthly max. Also, as usual, they haven't said when the software will be available but you can sign up right away and start referring people.

Click here to sign up Another new one that uses the FreeGamesNow twist, among other things. They give you points for five things if you sign up. First, you get paid for every hour you surf using their AllAdvantage ViewBar-like "SpediaBar." The software is out right now and they have started paying for hours as of September ($.54/hour.) We never expected this company to get started so quickly. You also get points if someone visits your site using a "yoursite.spedia.com" redirection url. This displays your site as usual but also displays a pop-up add. Third, you get points if you change the links on your site by putting "http://peter.spedia.net/?" in front of them. This means that if someone follows a link on your page a pop up window is automatically displayed. To see an example of the pop-up window Click Here. On top of all of this they have now started a 'pay to read email' program. At the September rates you'd get between $.05 and $.10 per email you receive. If you are already a member of the pay to surf program you'll have to update your account in order to join the paid email program. Finally and most importantly, you get 25% of all points earned by anyone you refer to the program. Click here to sign up For those of you that can't get enough of services that pay you by the hour, here's one of the newest. SharkHunt.com is a London company that pays in pounds (naturally.) They pay you 25p/hour, 10p/hour for your 1st level referrals and 5p/hour for the next 3 levels. You can get paid a maximum of £20 for your hours per month. They have online account checking and forms to automatically send e-mails to your friends if you want to refer them. They say the Adbar software will be out in late August. The service is currently only paying UK residents but will expand to North America and the rest of the world soon. If you live in the UK, this is the service for you. It looks like it might be a good one for everyone else as well.
