A nonprofit, charitable, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization established in 1989. Our purpose is to promote personal safety and self-esteem through workshops that emphasize success-based practice.
Our mission is to teach people of all ages how to stay safe, act wisely and believe in themselves. Our community based violence prevention and self-esteem building programs are receiving international recognition for being upbeat, effective, safe, emotionally supportive and hands-on.
Our goal is to ensure that high quality services become available to as many people as possible. We have trained over 25,000 children, teenagers and adults in more than 50 communities around the world. Our Everyday Safety Skills Programs teach awareness and boundary-setting skills. Our Full Force Self Defense workshops provide the opportunity for full-force practice of physical self defense techniques with a head-to-toe padded instructor. We also teach adults how to present and practice self-protection and confidence building skills with the young people in their lives. Our services are tailored to fit the specific needs of a wide range of organizations and businesses and to serve people from most walks of life.
Along with KIDPOWER programs for young people and the adults who care for them, we offer TEENPOWER programs for teens and FULLPOWER programs for adults.
We are constantly establishing new locally-run centers throughout the United States and in other countries including Canada, Swizerland, New Zealand, Belgium, Sweden and Italy. Our headquarters are in Santa Cruz, California.
