August 27, 1998

As promised - I have gotten rid of ALL of the frames, although I had to use the "Open in a new browser window" command sometimes, but not often - mostly to view my photos and to browse the guestbook.

The central image on the first page had been slightly reduced, but not too much. I probably will have to do something about it, but not very soon - so if you do not like the download time, simply avoid it by bookmarking the Home page.

Some certain 'artworx' had been performed on the Photoshop (r) and in the future I plan to add the Java script for OnMouseOver changing images - but I want to learn everything about it, not just copy and paste code, so it will take, maybe a week or so.

Still no contents update - please wait for the weekend and I'll get it over.

I have added some style to the page: uniform background, uniform color palette, start page made with Photoshop (r) and graphical menu in the left frame.
I have also tried the Adobe PageMill - it is very CPU aggressive and it changes the HTML code not the way I like it (sometimes) but it is a good engine which allowes to save some time on routine operations, is equipped with lots of buttons and manages whole sites easily. My preference is, of course, Arachnophilia, and I will stick to it when making small changes to the site (mostly textual) but when I will take general moves I will have no other alternative than to use PageMill.
I have prepared uniform file naming convention as Fortunecity does not allow folders. Therefore, in order not to get lost, the files need to be managed very carefully.
I opened a new section - called Projects. It's empty now, so I do not give you the link, but as soon as the update is made - you will learn first about it.
Despite surface changes, the contents remained basically the same (I added one further chapter in the biography section), although I have plans to update it very soon. Anyway, the page is just on the stage of alpha testing and I am not going to disclose it to anybody except closest friends. This is page is besides not yet included into search engines - so if you came across it, it is my sincere pleasure to welcome you here. Please drop me a message so I can learn about you...

Finally I have put all the links on the Web. I am going also to prepare a brief description of each resource, but everything with the time. The Links will be updated regularly - so keep your eyes on.

The underlines from all links on the home page and in the left frame have been removed. I think it is smoother so.
Continued working on the Links page. I have modified the final structure of the page and also have created a large HTML file which contains all my Favorites. Using this file I hope to be able to complete my links by tomorrow. And after that I will remove all my favorites from HDD and will gather new links. I will try to post them on the weekly basis, but still do not know if it will be commensurate.
FTP Explorer (r) experiences huge problems while connecting. I think that they might increase the bandwidth... but I am not complaining. After all it's free bandwidth...

Obviously I have greatly overestimated my ability to update three pages at once. Well, I know, I have to move on, but... but wait! Everything with the time!
Still I have modified slightly the structure of the Links page. Nothing works yet, but I hope to put all my bookmarks and even more onto the Web, because I'm bored to move favorites from the office desktop to home PC. Let them rest in peace in one tiny place...
FTP works great except that the server knows very busy times... Well, I am cool about it, do I pay anything for HDD space, after all?..

Possibility to upload files via FTP examined. In fact this is much more easy than the built-in File Manager. For the future I always vote for FTP. Used client software - FTP Explorer (r).
Appearance of the left frame has been altered.
My photograph has been published on the Author page.
This file has been created.
New project is being considered - irregular thoughts of myself on certain events in the Internet and particularly in its Russian part. Estimated periodicity is one week (plus/minus, you know).
The Links, Friends and Author pages will be updated tomorrow.

Another kind of guestbook has been launched.
I have left the first message in the guestbook. Until now it is also the only one, but honestly, there is nothing to see in my site at present. So I will be patient.

The idea of this page has come to the mind of its author.
Main files for the page have been created, the frames structure was accomplished. The "Under Construction" page was put everywhere instead of the links.
Counter has been enabled. Fortunecity Guestbook has been ebanbled. However, this guestbook turned out to be extremely sloooow.
