Father and Mother
I am fast recovering from a 3 week siege of Typhoid Fever. I had sent Addie and Missmi here to spend the summer and as soon as I was able to ride I was brought up for the purpose of recovering. It is a pleasant summer resort 170 miles west of Denver and 18 from Leadville. Plenty of trout and some of the finest scenery in the world. My sickness has been a very expensive one not less than $100. I can truly say it is very expensive to be sick or die in Denver. I believe I have had the sad experience of both while here. Hardly recovered from the loss of my dear wife and I am stricken down myself but the Lord has saw fit to spare me to the ?? a while longer.

The girls are well and hardy as could wish for and am enjoying themselves out here very much. My ?? Ron for the last few weeks was Passenger from Denver to Leadville but I told the officers wish me to take a branch. Ron so I do not know just where I will be ?? but think headquarters in Denver. We have no decision yet in regard to our Moey but ask for one every day and do not see how the children can be kept out of it. Still the ?? can do most anything especially if its in a Political ?? Well I am getting tired and must close. Hoping this mite find you all well and enjoying the good things of earth. I am as ever yours.
