Nelson recognized for his dedication

Music director, Roy Nelson, received the Award of Harmony on Nov. 11. This award commended Nelson for his musical service to the community. “I felt honored to have been chosen for this award. There are many other deserving musicians active in music and to be selected above them is extraordinary,” said Nelson.

The award was presented to Nelson by the Bucks County Country Gentlemen’s Chorus at their annual show. A committee has been following Nelson’s achievements through the years and selected him for this award. “In my opinion, there aren’t many more people more deserving of this award then he is,” said Garry Warlow, assistant choral director.

Nelson has been directing music in the Neshaminy School District for 31 years. Nelson has been an active participant in six choirs at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Ivyland, Pa. for over 15 years. He was also a director of the Tri-County Band in Feasterville.

Senior and choir president Adam Fry has been a student of Nelson since he arrived here. "Mr. Nelson is one of the most well-rounded teachers in our school. Once a student comes to the high school he brings out the hidden talents in everyone."
