On Feb. 13, 30 of our students competed in the American Mathematics
Competition. A big congratulations goes out to those who scored
well enough to move on to the next level in the competition. They
are Matt Butt who scored the highest at Neshaminy, Maggie Corey,
Stephanie Ihnat and Dmitri Pavlichine. Good job to all those who
participated.
Congratulations to Tom Henry Walls who defeated a three time champion
in securing the title of 1st place in the Southeast PA Debate League,
Lincoln-Douglas Competition.
Science Club
The Science Club is planning a trip to Edmund Scientific Store in
New Jersey in late March or early April. Their annual school day
trip to the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences will be scheduled
for some time in April.
The Sophomore Dinner Dance will be held on Fri. April 6, from 6:30pm-10:30pm
in Gym Three. Ticket sales will begin on March 19 before homeroom.
Requirements include no more than one F on second marking period
report card and no more than 10 absences.
Senior Patrick Eik presented an independent research paper. "The
Effectiveness of Anti-Biotic to Eliminate A Bacteria Culture"
at the 2001 PA Junior Science and Symposium which was held at Penn
State University on March 11, 12 , 13, 2001. Eik is the first Neshaminy
High School student to take part in this program.
Congratulations to Ali Linsk, Gwen Cavin, Allyson Malandra and
Liz Brown on their serving as Senior Representatives to the Future
Problem Solving State Competition. All of the coaches are proud
of all of the participating teams.
