The Head of the Household

My daddy is a very important person in my life. Nathaniel Grant was born in Bamburg, SC and is one of 13 children. He moved to New York where him and my mom met. After the busy fast life he wanted to move back to the South. My father was a twin, however his twin died at birth. After graduation from high school he did what was expected of every man in that day in time and that was to WORK. My father was really into cars. While living in New York, he use to race cars and he also did mechanic work on them. It's so amazing because my father knows cars as if he was born with the knowledge. Nathaniel wanted to be a mechanic, so he took night classes and was later certified. His profession is to my advantage because anytime something goes wrong with my car he knows exactly what to do.

Another side hobbie that my father loves is photography. He does weddings, birthday parties, and even family reunions. I was always his "side partner" because he would use me to shoot when testing his lens position and focusing.

Now that I'm older my father and I have grown even closer. Since my parents are divorced I usually see my dad once a week. When I do see him we usually cook out, wash our cars, or just talk. One thing I believe is that once people age they see how important life is and how easily it can be taken from you. However, I don't hold a grudge towards my father for not being as family oriented as my mother because he has finally come across to see what family is about. There's no question in my mind how important me and my brother are to him. Just that special look that he has in his eyes when we're all together is enough.
