For all newbies...get a template with some instructions HERE...just do the 'save as' (under the 'file' tab on the top of your browser).
This website primer is dedicated to...
...all the beautiful web pages which were coded by beautiful people meaning to do their best. Er.., pages that really suck but deserve to be visited at least once. Afterwards you would probably never go back. Too bad, because many of these sites should be re-visited but you just can't take the bombardment on your senses. So overly done are these sites that they collapse under their own weight.
Now I don't want you to get the idea that I'm down on all these sites, I said they were beautiful. When a person goes on the web and builds a page it is usually with a lot of gusto, frustration, and trial and error. Well, if you get it on the server and it comes up the way you coded it then you've accomplished your primary goal (and of course your pride is going to be boundless). Next come the refinements, the tune-ups, the wrestling with new ideas. Oh, yea!! If you don't progress then you're getting stale, so there is nothing new to offer your "clients".
What is this "clients" business, I didn't go on the web for any stinkin' clients you say...Well, consider the people you want to come back as clients or customers, they're looking for information, laughs, a little while to forget what they need to forget, or just surfing to make friends.
You will accumulate some loyal surfers, and some steady "hits" on a daily basis. So take what is being offered here as some friendly pointers to slowly build your site into a crowd pleaser. A crowd is made of individuals with very personal tastes and needs, and the more people you appeal to the bigger the crowd.
But I'm not into commercial sites where I have to worry about customers, and I can't please everybody anyway (I've heard it before). But my friends, the goals you set trying to get your site noticed and bookmarked amounts to the same thing. You want a steady clientelle and the ability to attract new surfers and have them come back.
But enough of the pep talk, and if you're still with me we'll go to some of the golden rules of building a web site, but keep in mind these are just pointers for you to take into consideration. I would never take away your personal triumph or your artistic integrity.

The information provided is designed solely to initiate and support the creativity of those who would write their own web-pages.
I in no way want to limit the artistic integrity of the individual artist. The thoughts and theories put forth in this section are solely to supply some insight on problems and their solutions.
If one is taking advantage of free webspace providers please take to heart their requirements. Always read their FAQ's regarding legal and illegal activities on their free servers. It may be that websites using 'frame' elements will have their problems on free servers. All free-servers carry advertisement banners which cannot be tampered with. It is their way of making a profit and thereby are they able to offer free webspace. When working with frames and tables..such as this site, it is suggested you use Netscape instead of Internet Explorer to check your work. Netscape users (about 50% of surfers) will usually be left out of viewing your site if your tables don't work. Netscape is much more exact and will show nothing on your site if your tables don't work properly.
For all newbies, here's a present. click on I'm a newbie and follow the instructions to build your first webpage, all inclusive, just use the 'File -Save As -and put it on your own computer.
