REGISTERING A CHANNEL

This document will hopefully help you register a channel on either the Gameslink or UTGAMES IRC servers. It shows a list of commands that you must follow in order to have a channel registered.

LETS DO THIS

the first command you must use to start the registration process is

/msg g register <#channelname> <your email address>
(example: /msg g register #mychannel [email protected])

after typing this you will be asked by the automated bot "G" to provide a purpose for this channel by typing the command

/msg g purpose <channel purpose here>
(example /msg g purpose a channel for my clan/squad)

after this command has been sent you will be asked to provide the names and email addresses of three supporters by using the command

/msg g supporter <#> <name> <email address>
(example /msg g supporter 1 IPSQUINTY [email protected])

NOTE: the staff dont really care that much about you having supporters for your channel request so just use the three examples provided by G -
/msg G supporter 1 John [email protected]
/msg G supporter 2 SirNewbie [email protected]
/msg G supporter 3 Billy_Gates [email protected]

once all these steps have been completed you are now ready to confirm all the info that you have just typed if your sure that it's all correct and you want to continue type-

/msg g sendreg

If all the info was typed correctly you will now receive a messege from G telling you that your channel registration request has been successful and your channel has been made and registered it will tell you the name of the channel "#mychannel" and also the password you must use to auth yourself on it (this is usually your nickname so plz remember to change it as soon as you can for help on this go here)

NOTE: on the UTGAMES IRC server your channel is automatically registered but on the GAMESLINK IRC server you will have to wait until one of the ADMINS (usually Taerom) has seen your request and has authorised it. Please check your email G will send you an email to show that your request has been received and will be looked at shortly if you have not received an email from an ADMIN (Taerom) within 3 days telling you that your channel has been registered then the best thing to do is consider that the email was lost and register again If its not registered this time then go to #staff and ask (POLITELY there is no point in going in and shouting " why the fuck wasnt my channel registered asshole") why your channel wasnt registered.
