Cities under the sea

Men have reached the top of Mt. Everest over 700 times, yet only one man has reached the deepest point of the ocean. Furthermore, a submarine has not been south of the Antartic Circle to explore. Large squids as large as 75 feet have been found dead, but living specimens have never been found.

Asteroids strikes!
  Asteroid detection become a growing concern, as the question of 'if' earth will recieve a direct hit has been changed to 'when' event will occur. Scientists and amateurs are discovering and plotting the courses of asteroids and comets.
 
 
PRESENT:
Large deposits of gold and other rare gems have been discovered at the Azore thermal vents. At the present time, it is not cost effective to mine at such depths.

PREDICTION:
Communities at the bottom of the sea, based on mining the ocean, research, farming and more.

  PRESENT:
Sharks are resistant to cancer. Shark cartledge has been thought to have medicinal value, causing many species to be over-fished to near extinction. 

Scientists have discovered life forms under the sea which have lead to successful new medical treatments for man's age old diseases. At the present time two thirds of the coral reefs in the ocean surrounding India have died within the last three years. Scientist have not found the cause. Global warming due to the depletion of earth's ozone are causing wide destruction to ocean life as we know it.

PREDICTION:
Many life forms will become extinct before their potential is realized. 

Pollution from nuclear waste dumping in the Artic by the U.S.S.R during the cold war, and chemical wastes from our cities could possibly cause earth's oceans to die.

PRESENT:
 New species are being discovered  every day, as we explore the depths of the ocean.

PREDICTION:
Many new life forms found in outer space will be similar to life forms found at the bottom of the sea and in volcanoes. 

Thermal vents off the Azores, at 700 degrees showcase life whose existance depends on sulphuric acid, and not oxygen.

PRESENT:
Space debris in the form of satellites and rocket parts fall to the earth each day. 

1/24/78 Canada's Northwest Territory: Cosmos 954 contaminated a 300 mile area with uranium as the satellite crashed. Currently, 300 manmade space objects are leaking coolants while orbiting earth. 

NASA can not predict where every orbiting piece will fall. Before launching each expedition, scientists now must plot all space debris in the orbital path. One paint fleck, traveling at 18,000 mph can pass through a space walking astronaut with deadly consequences. 

PREDICTION:
Disasters will occur in space before scientists are able to recover all space junk obiting earth.

      
PRESENT:
Research of asteroid and comet collisions with earth point to mass extinctions at several points since earth's beginning. Early in the 20th century, a possible atmospheric explosion of a comet in Siberia lit up the skies in London at night!

As recent as the 1990's, an previously undetected asteroid entered earth's atmosphere and exited, which could possibly have destroyed the western US if a direct hit. One large asteroid, which would cause mass extinctions, passed between earth and the moon!

Asteroids will be detected in advance and diverted. Nearby asteroids and comets will be mined by astronauts.

PREDICTION:
Genetic research with DNA will provide conslusive evidence of the evolution of man and animals. Scientists have found the DNA of birds more closely relates to warm blooded dinasaurs.  Scientists previously thought flying dinasaurs were the ancestors of birds. 

PRESENT:
Companies are now taking reservations for space resorts which will revolve around earth. Plans are to recycle space debris from earlier space flights to construct a one-of-a kind view! 

Scientists are now researching the newest level of overseas flights. Planes will exit earth's atmosphere to reenter within minutes at their destination. Flights to 'Down Under' will take minutes, rather than hours!

PREDICTION:
Personal vehicles will travel on pre-planned super highways in our skys, as well as in outer space.
 

PRESENT:
Encounters of the first, second and third kind are reported, but disbelieved by the public.

PREDICTION:
Life on earth, as we know it, is living today as a result of our moon being formed in such a way as to allow an atmosphere. The next millennium will verify UFO encounters throughout the history of earth. Humankind will be shocked to learn our planet was cultivated by supreme beings as one would tend a garden.
