Uncache.ocx Version 2 Demos
You should be aware of some important Security Risks before continuing. These demos use "unsigned" ActiveX controls, and in order for your Browser to accept them, you must set your Security Level to Low. |
To adjust your Security Level:
|
For ultimate Security, uninstall uncache.ocx when you have finished with these Demos |
Details
These Demos will create files in your Cache but Windows Explorer (File Manager) doesn't display them or delete them when it flushes the Cache by various means. They'll probably disappear as the Cache "manages" itself. But if you're fussy about that sort of thing, you may want to visit the CacheBoo page to learn more about the Cache and how to get rid of these (and other) hidden files that have probably accumulated therein. |
Also, if your Cache is full it could slow or confuse some program functions -- especially if you go to a given Demo more than once. If things go wrong, try flushing the Cache. From the Start Menu go:--- Programs.., Accessories..., System Tools..., Disk Cleanup.... Select the Drive that Windows is on (usually C:) and click OK. Make sure that Temporary Internet Files is ticked. Click OK. |
Demos
EEG sample | Retrieves and displays a sample EEG data file and passes information to the data analysis program for which this control was designed. |
Opus1 | Display a graphic and play a WAV file |
Unforgettable | Download a MIDI player (PlayMIDI,exe(9K)) and MIDI file (unforget.mid((41K)) and play the MIDI music. (Elevator-ish -- I'm not a MIDI fan) |
Modplug | Download a MOD player (Modplug.exe (259K)) and a MOD file (Pinball.mod (195K)) and play the MOD music. |
The Simpsons | Download an MP3 player (Winamps.exe (360K) plus "Cool" skin and support (12K)) and an MP3 file (Simpsons.it (1.5Meg)) and a File Concatenator (Concat.exe (9K)). (Files longer than 1 MByte must be partitioned on the server side and reconstructed on the Client side). When done, with all of this (maybe 8 min at 28KBaud?) play the very well done medley of The Simpson's parodies. For this, I am a MOD fan. Especially with ADSL. |
