Fireworks Explode around Edinburgh Castle.
They obscure the Castle completely! The people of Edinburgh (and visitors) were so friendly, I don't know how many times I was wished a "Happy New Year", and shook someone's hand. I got dozens of hugs, and must have kissed a dozen women as well! I don't think I could have picked a better place to ring in the New Millenium.
After an hour and a half Jim and I finally found each other, made our way to the cybercafe to download driving directions back to Glenrothes, and found our car. We made it back to our hotel about 4 a.m. We watched some news of New Years around the world, and finally got to sleep around six!
