Stuff About My Work

Southern Cross Computer Systems (SCCS)

http://www.sccs.com.au/

To learn the "Official" description of who SCCS is then click on the link above. The company provides a huge range of computer and IT facilities to all types of business. We've setup and run Helpdesks, setup Video conference facilities, designed and implemented networks both small and huge. (It tends to be the huge that people want though!)

My impressions of the company are like it's just one big family. As in a real family, there are moments when people argue so does SCCS. What's important is that we arrive stronger, more capable and more successful on the other side of any disagreements. Its good fun to interact with so many talented minds. We have a diverse multicultural mix of staff. This helps to provide for some lighter moments. It's also good to hear the answer when you ask them what their nationality is. The answer you get is always the same. I'm Australian with a (Greek, Macedonian, American, Hungarian, English, Arabic, Polynesian, Italian, etc…) heritage. Isn't that kind of an attitude and pride what makes a country great?

Customer Service Engineer

Essentially this is my title. What it means is that I go to a site and assess thier needs, help companies out with specific IT tasks, repair notebooks, PC's and printers while also dealing directly with the general public.

SCCS Service Department

The service department is always growing. Currently we have a Pops, a Brownman, a CG, a Hengles, a Chopper, a Duck, a Warez Wally, a Gazza a Mr. Low, an Ali, a Ruthless and a Rose. Having written this list, I am petrified I've left someone out. Amongst us we look after products from Toshiba, Compaq, Canon, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Lexmark, AST and numerous others.

Some Stuff About Me That You Wont Find In The Tabloids

My name is Scott R J Dunstan.

I am too ancient to be 26 years old.

My hair is going grey but as yet (touch wood) am not follically challenged.

I grew up in a small country town called Couangalt in rural Victoria.

I met my wife in a pub on a camping trip, made a smart-arse remark while sitting on the bonnet of my car as she was sitting on the boot of hers. Basically it was love at first sight and I've never looked back.

I now live in Pakenham, Victoria (Australia) amidst (egad) suburbia.

I have two fantastic puppies.

My wife and I are currently celebrating the first Birthday of our first child, Rebecca. Who just happens to be THE most beautiful little girl in the world ;-)
