How2ChordDesc.

O.K., now you would like to know what all this means? Well then here is a brief chord description:
Power Chords: Power chords don't contain a 3rd note. Technically they are a 5 chord (1,5) Since the do not contain a 3rd note they can be used in either Major or Minor context. Example: E5 (1,5) is E,B. Power Chords are used allot in Rock and Roll!
Suspended Chords: A Suspended chord does not contain a 3rd note. It is replaced with a different note. example: Asus2 (1,2,5) is A,B,E instead if (1,3,5) A,C#,E
Augmented Chords: A augment chord is 1,3,#5. They can be named from any note in the chord. All augmented chords forms are repeated every four frets
Diminished Chords A diminished chord is allot like the Augmented chords with the exception: 1,b3,b5. They can be named from any note in the chord, and the augmented chord forms are repeated every THREE frets here.
Altered Chords Altered chords are composed as indicated by the chord name. Example E7b5 is 1,3,b5,b7 (E,G#,bB,D)or Em7b5 is 1,b3,b5,b7 (E,G,Bb,Db)
Poly chords Poly chords are bi-tonal. The contain the notes from two different chords played at the same time. Example E5/G# is played with the notes from both E5 and G#.
