The Band

History     Written by: CrashRyde Fan
These guys have been playing together in one form or another since 1994.  The various incarnations include: New Sensations - Paul as the drummer for this gospel/soul group based in Louisa, for 5 years, Zipadunk -  Patrick, Willie, and Adam Gowan,  Jake- Travis, Paul, Patrick, and Cliff Rowland, Pork - Willie, Noah Cleveland, Adam Gowan, Shane Guild, and Pure Ground - Paul, Patrick, Cliff Rowland, Walker Travis, Shane Guild.  Pure Ground broke up in the spring of 1998.  Two years later, Shane Guild and Patrick were out of town on the same job and jamming after work.  When the job ended, they got in touch with Travis and Paul, got together again, and CrashRyde was formed.
That fall, they were playing every weekend at local gatherings in Louisa and on nearby college campuses.  By January, 2001, CrashRyde had accumulated 16 original songs and self-produced their first album, CrashCourse.  In February, Shane left to attend film school and Willie replaced him as bass player.  Since CrashCourse was recorded, the band has been busy writing new material and priming up for spring/summer touring.
