BASS
![]() Within two weeks he was playing songs by Nirvana with Paul Heath and his cousin (also named Alex). Evan and Heath continued to play, becoming more and more familiar with each others playing style, making them the ever more skilled of players. Inspired by Metallica, Heath and Evan tried to start a cover band with Paul Smith. His timing was incredibly off, and at times it seemed as though he didn't know what he was doing, but they didn't give up. Their band (originally "The Pointed Tip Top Cans With a Hole No Larger Than a 50 Cent Piece") decided on a new name, Impulze. This didn't last too long, considering the fact that Heath and Evan didn't like the way it sounded...gay. Evan was approached one day by Heath with a proposal. It turned out that Smith's friend, Alex Steele was joining the band, along with bassist/ vocalist Andrew Boutros. Seeing that Impulze was going no where, Evan thought it would be a good idea. Their first rehersal was after school at Langley High School. But what about a name? Evan sarcasticly suggested "Lithium" from the album Nevermind, by Nirvana. The name stuck for a while, but ultimatly didn't turn out. Alex Steele suggested Red Light District one day, as a name. At this point Evan could care less what it was. Heath suggested that it be Black Light District and the name stuck. Since then, well if you read the other bios there ya have it, im just lazy....
Evan Loudenback's Comment: "Bass is my life. I love to turn the bass all the way up and jam on that four-string mother fucker! There's nothin else quite like it in the world, except for hearing a song that's truly original work...and sounds good. That kicks ass!"
