Mr. Charles Collins

Mr. Charles Collins is in his third year at Field. He is a 1985 graduate of the University of Akron where he received a Bachelor of Music in Education with an emphasis on trombone. Mr. Collins spent his first five years of teaching in California. His first teaching position was at the Fort Irwin National Army Training Center. Prior to leaving Fort Irwin, Mr. Collins was awarded "Teacher of the Year" by the Brigadier General of the U.S. Army. He then spent three years at San Bernardino High School in San Bernardino, California. During his tenure there, his bands performed for President Reagan and were invited to perform for the government of New Zealand. Mr. Collins also taught one year at Brea-Olinda High School in Brea, California.

After returning to Ohio, Mr. Collins spent six years at Crestwood High School where his band earned such honors as "special guest band" at Disney World's Valentine's Day Celebration. Additionally, his bands have earned numerous Superior ratings at district and state levels. Mr. Collins has done graduate work at California State University, San Bernardino, The University of Akron and Wooster College.
