Ms. Diane McMaster Middle School Band Director Associate Director of the Marching Band Miss Diane McMaster began her teaching career with field in 1978. She taught elementary lessons and assisted the Junior High and High School bands for seven years. She moved into the Junior High band position in 1985 and has held that position to the present day. She has been a director with the Royal Gardsmen Marching Band since 1979. She also directs a Junior High Jazz Band as well as an ensemble performance program, which performs for senior citizens and community functions throughout the year. Miss McMaster's education includes attending Green High School, a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree from the University of Akron, and graduate studies at Bowling Green, Kent State, The University of Akron and the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. She is a member of the honor sorority Alpha Lambda Delta, the music sorority Tau Beta Sigma, the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA), the National Education Association and a staff member for the College of Wooster Music Camp. Miss McMaster was given the "Who's Who in Music" award in 1992 and was inducted into the American School Band Director's Association in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this past July 1999. Her professional leadership includes being an adjudicator for marching band, concert band/orchestra/ solo and ensemble (woodwinds), and has been a chairperson for the OMEA Large Group Junior High Band and Orchestra Contest for district VI. In May of 1999, she was elected as president-elect for OMEA District VI and will serve in this office for two years then move on to president for the next two years.
