Courtney Love was born(from Linda Risi e Hank Harrison)on July 9th 1965 in S.Francisco as "Love MICHELLE Harrison". She was renamed after her parents divorced and her mother gained custody over her(After her parents's divorce she traveled from country to country with her mother ending in a reform school),now she is COURTNEY LOVE COBAIN.
Her favourite musicals are: The Stooges, Sonic Youth , P.J.Harvey, Fleetwood Mac, Frightwig, Big Black .For about a week she sang for FAITH NO MORE in San Francisco and then moved to Minneapolis where she formed her first all-girl band: SUGARBABYDOLL,with Kat Bjelland(now"Babes in Toyland)and Jennifer Finch(now L7).But very soon Kat had kicked Courtney out.
Now She provides her alternative music band HOLE(March 1990),with lead vocals and also plays a guitar; as a member of Hole ,Courtney has three LP's available 1991's PRETTY ON THE INSIDE, 1994's LIVE THROUGH THIS, 1997's MY BODY THE HAND GRENADE (a collection of rarities).
Courtney has starred in five movies (CLICK HERE) including "SID AND NANCY" 1986, "STRAIGHT TO HELL" 1987, "FELLING MINNESOTA" 1996, "BASQUIAT" 1996, "THE PEOPLE vs. LARRY FLINT" 1996(she had to take an urine test everyday to prove she was not on heroin-she received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Althea). She was also the music coordinator of " TANK GIRL" 1995.
In the past She had other occupations: Stripper and Photographer for Irish rock magazine.Now -1998-she is contacted by a famous Italian fashion house:VERSACE.(you can find some Versace pictures in "PICTURES").
She was married twice.Once very briefly to James Moreland of the band LEAVING TRAINS. The second time was to NIRVANA founder and leader KURT COBAIN in Hawaii on February 24 1992(Courtney wore an antique dress one belonging to Frances Farmer). Kurt and Courtney had one child, Frances Bean, who was born on August 18 1992.
Courtney Love live in SEATTLE /WA ,but raised in New York,L'pool,Australia,Alaska , Minneapolis,Los Angeles.
