Articles

green ballBuilding Support Networks with Email - This article outlines how parents, teachers and other interested individuals can build support networks online using email. Much of the content is based on my own experience of building an international support network while geographically isolated in terms of professional and peer support.

green ballChoosing Software for Students with Special Needs - This article shows you what to look for and gives some examples of quality software.

green ballSupport Organisations on the Web - In this article I look at some great disability support organisations online and discuss what it is about them that makes them great.

green ballThe BushNet Story - This Paper was presented at the QSITE conference in 1996. The organisation has had some changes since then, but the story of how a handful of remote schools got together and organised their own internet access is something marvellous when you consider how many schools in metropolitan areas have not been able to do the same to this date. On these pages you will find the main points of the article. For a full copy please email me.

green ballUsing Web Pages in the Classroom - This paper was presented at the Effective Learning and Teaching Conference in Cairns, 1996. The pages contain the main points of the articles and links to BushNet projects that illustrate the points. It was intended for an audience of teachers with very little internet experience.

I also write for the Adaptive Technology Services journal, 'On Line' which comes out quarterly. This journal contains software reviews, hardware reviews, teaching strategies, case studies and much more. Each issue comes with a shareware disk. The journal is written by teachers from various fields of special needs teaching. For details on how to subscribe, see the LISC website or email me.
