The Fiddle-I-Fee Tree
We read the story and sang the song of the animals that are fed by yonder
tree. We thought it would be fun to make them. Unfortunately, vandals destroyed the large display we made. This is how we did it.
1. We painted the trunk of the tree on brown paper.
2. We scrunched up crepe paper and green paper to make some leaves. You
could also use wool and celophane.
3. We stuck on some patty pans to make fruit and flowers.
4. We traced our hands on green paper and cut them out to stick on the
tree. They look like leaves.
5. We did the animals in the same order that we sing them in the song.
* cat
* hen
* duck
* goose
* sheep
* pig
* cow
We used normal pencils to colour the first 3 animals and we stuck goggle
eyes on the cat. For the last 4 animals we used magic (watercolour) pencils.
Miss Sarah drew the animals for us.
6. Then we stuck the animals on the tree and wrote what they said.
We like to look at our poster while we sing the song. We made up actions
to go with each animal, and some of the actions are the name sign for the
animal. We could make more animals to go with our song, but we ran out
of room on our paper. If you make your paper bigger, you could have bees,
dogs, horses, goats and whatever you think of.
