Girl Monstar released two singles, both of which went to Number One on the Australian Alternative Charts. They were 'Surfing on a Wave of Love' and 'Joe Cool' respectively. Girl Monstar were included on a Timberyard Release of Christmas songs with the Hanoi Rocks song 'Dead By Christmas' and also recorded 'Is That You' for a Kiss Tribute Album.

They received an Australian Recording Industry Association nomination in 1989 for best independent single for 'Surfing on a Wave of Love'

In 1992 they recorded their first Album 'Monstereo Delicio' with Paul Kosky and Jedd Starr at Periscope and Platinum Studios. Before the release of this album Damian Child left the band and was replaced by Janene Abbot.

All Girl Monstar's records were released by Sydney label Timberyard Records who also released bands such as the Dubrovniks.
