JIM SHARP

Jim Sharp, grew up is South Jersey and started playing drums at a time when rock and roll was still in it's infancy. The cultural mixing pot of the Philadelphia area soon became Jim's training ground. Back then, vocal harmony could be heard in the high school hallways and on street comers. Those soulful sounds made a ~avy impression on Jim and those influences remain evident in his accomplished performance. Jim has shared the stage with such notables as Fats Domino, Lloyd Price, Tex Williams, Roy Buchanan, Wes Montgomery and other accomplished players. He has performed all over the Eastern United States, California and in the Southern Pacific. His style is broad and reflects his experience as a drummer/vocalist in formats ranging from Country to Soul, R & B, and Jazz. Jim's vocal style is full of improvisation and good humor. A listen to one BACKYARD STRUT set will treat you to a taste of the fruit of Jim's life-long commitment and joyful view of the world through music.
