Im working really hard to get a preview of the song to you! The song has been scheduled for radio release in Australia on august 30th, next Monday!

20th August:

OK, some majour news for you! Heres what Darren had to say in a promo interview on channel V news: "The album's called Affirmation. You know I'm stll getting to know it because I just finished it around 3, 4 days ago. I loved it, I'm very proud of it, a very personal record, it's a very emotional record, and I'm very impressed with it. And um...it's pretty much of a snapshot of...lyrically at least, my life for the last 12 months, in terms of sound and direction. You know we've been listening
to a lot of really morbid stuff, Massive Attack, a lot of Brtish kind of electronica, and initially we thought the album's gonna sound like that ...and we met Walter and it kind of changed. It's much more of guitar heavy than we um... originally kind of thought it would be, but it's very intricate lot's of very tiny parts. The entire collection of songs is a bit of a journey, it's not always upbeat, it's
kind of beutifully sad but's truly positive." Also, check out eli.com about some info on the affirmation album: "SAVAGE GARDEN Affirmation (Australian 14-track CD inc bonus track: Animal Song Remix plus exclusive enhanced material for PC use feat behind the scenes footage & Affirmation recording sessions - cool!)(142797)

15th August:

Well, another few changes going on in this site... first of all, it features a spiffy new easy-to-make -sence-of discography. It features almost all of the singles released, along with their various tracklistings, which vary from area to area (which makes this job very annoying). Any additional entries will be made in the next few weeks in order to make it a comprehensive list of all the cd's savage garden has released. You may also have noticed that I have gotten rid of the 'entry' page, so you go straight to the mainpage. The Anne Rice quote has been moved to the history section.

10th August:

Yay! Another update from Leonie on the official savage garden site!! We have a name for the first single: 'I knew I loved you'.  "I knew I loved you is a pure, sweet, simple ballad about the soulmate you are yet to meet. You know they are out there, and you know that sort of love exists... but you are yet to find it (and you are happy to wait for it.. )." The single is due for radio airplay the first week of  September, and for commercial release the week after. It may or may not feature a remix of it by Daniel Jones! Unfortunately, Affirmation has been pushed back to November the 2nd, with Australia and Japan possibly getting it a week earlier...

9th August:

Ive just revamped the savage garden affirmation mainpage (already!) and added added an articles section! Ive also added midi files to the songs section, where each midi is under the relevant song link. Check out midi files of 'to the moon and back', 'carry on dancing', 'tears of pearls', 'I want you', 'truly madly deeply', 'a thousand words', 'break me shake me' and 'santa monica'! most of them have multiple versions, so take a look. I hope to add a few more multimedia links soon, so stay tuned!

13th July:

Well, the latest fanzine has been released and theres a ton of news about savage gardens soon to be released second album! First of all, we know that the title will be affirmation. You can view an early promotional poster here. The recording has been completely finished, and the mixng and promotional stages are on their way. The release date has been unfortunately pushed back to October. A second single will soon be released. It is unknown if it will be the apparent song called "the best thing", since Darren said "Its changing daily" and Daniel said "There are four possible options. We will decide which one we should go with while the album is getting mixed". The only other song that is known, other than 'the animal song' is 'two beds and a coffee machine', which is a ballad. So far, there are 13 songs for the album, and two b-sides waiting to be used. The album has carried through on earlier reports of a more electronic feel, features some live pianos, strings and some incredible electronic beats. "The pop is very pop and the ballads are very sad. Theres only one song that has elements of trip hop. Its not so much a record about music fashion as opposed to song writing. Its definitely a different style of song writing on this record. At first glance, its probably going to look like quite a sad album. Theres a lot of heartache on there, but overall Its a very positive record. Its about getting through and living through  difficult situations and coming pout on the other side. If anything, the animal song is like the happy ending to the album". Walter Afanasieff is producing (co producer of the animal song) and Michael Landau (Seal, Celine Dion) is on guitars and Nathan East (Babyface, Eric Clapton) is on bass. I'll let you know when I know more!
