Jewel was injured earlier today when she was thrown from a horse in Texas, sustaining a broken collarbone and first rib, as well as bruises.

She is currently being treated by an orthopedic surgeon in Dallas and, fortunately, her injuries are not life threatening or permanent.

Early word from the doctor is that Jewel will be unable to travel for the next two weeks, and that it will be several days before the status of her promotional and concert commitments beyond this initial period can be determined.

Needless to say, she will be unable to be among the great lineup planned for the STAR FM Fan Nation 2 concert in Irvine on Saturday.

Jewel was visiting her boyfriend, rodeo champion Ty Murray, at his ranch in central Texas when the accident occurred.

28 February 2002- Jewel's next radio single will be a remix
                                   of "Break Me"

It's official. Jewel's next radio single will be a remix of "Break Me," not the album's title track as previously planned. The single should begin shipping to radio next week. There are no commercial release plans yet, but we'll keep you informed as things progress. A companion video for "Break Me" is currently in pre-production.

02 February 2002- Jewel will be singing the National Anthem
                                   at the NHL All Star Game

This Saturday, February 2nd, Jewel will perform The National Anthem at The National Hockey League's All-Star Game. This will be televised globally, live from Staples Center in Los Angeles. In the United States, ABC will broadcast the game beginning at 3:00 PM EST. Otherwise, check listings in your country for broadcast times and channels. Jewel will also be performing "Standing Still" during the break between the second and third period.
