Nick sat silently, listening to the other four guys warm up their voices for that night's concert. The show was going to begin in less then 15 minutes and Nick didn't really feel like going on. The only thing that was on his mind was the mystery girl. But he knew that he couldn't disappoint the millions of fans that had gathered to watch their performance. Nick just wished that he could have at least learned her name. Abby came walking over to Brian and Nick watched as she gave him a kiss on the cheek and Brian smiled. He knew that Brian must be the happiest man in the world and he wanted to feel that way too. But he was beginning to wonder if he had lost his chance.
Kevin walked over to Nick and handed him a microphone. "Are you ready to go on?"
"I guess so." Nick reluctantly stood up.
"Is that girl still on your mind?" Kevin asked as they took their positions behind AJ, Brian, and Howie.
"Kev, if I only knew her name it would make me feel so much better. I just want to know that one bit of information." Nick then quickly hummed a few notes to warm up.
They heard their cues and the guys went running out on to stage. The millions and millions of fans erupted into thunderous applause and screams. The guys began to sing "Let's Have a Party." Nick decided to focus on the concert but his thoughts couldn't help wondering about the girl.
After a few more songs the guys decided to take it down a notch and sing "Anywhere For You." Nick took his place next to Brian and as Brian sang his part Nick glanced out to the audience and there she was. His eyes locked with hers and he didn't even realize that he wasn't singing his part. Before anyone knew anything was wrong Brian began to sing Nick's part for him. Nick couldn't take his eyes off of her. She was like an angel among all the faces in the crowd.
"I'm not going to lose her this time." Nick thought to himself with determination.
When the concert was over Nick ran out of the backstage door and out into the midst of screaming teenaged girls. He looked around for her but she was no where in sight. Brian ran out after him, which only made the girls go more crazy.
"Nick.." Brian screamed over the roar of the fans. "Nick, where are you going?"
"It's her Brian!" Nick screamed back. "It's her."
Suddenly Nick saw her. She was further down the street getting into a taxicab. Nick pushed past the bodyguard and through the fans. He began to run up to her when he was swarmed by all the fans. When he finally broke free of the mob the taxicab was driving down the street. Nick began to run down the middle of the street after it.
"NO!" Nick ran faster. "I can't lose her again!"
But he couldn't catch up to the cab, it was already down the street and disappearing before his eyes. "The cab is disappearing and so is the mystery girl." He fell to his knees and held his head in his hands. "That's it, I've lost her." The bodyguard came and escorted Nick back to the tour bus.
"Nick are you all right?" Howie asked with concern for his friend.
"It's final." Nick looked down at the ground. "I've lost her forever and I'll never know who she is."
