Abby put her last suitcase into the back of the taxi cab that would take her to the airport. She wiped the tears from her eyes. She didn't think she could cry anymore. Abby shut the trunk of the cab and turned to face Brian's house. "How can he end it like this?" Abby thought to herself holding back tears. She saw the front door open and her hopes rose that it was Brian telling her not to leave but it was Kevin. He walked up to her with his hands in his jean pockets.
"You're really going to leave?" He asked her.
Abby nodded her head. "Brian doesn't want me here."
Kevin shook his head. "He's just mad right now. He's not thinking before he says things. Brian's just hurt."
Abby pointed to herself. "I didn't want to hurt him Kevin. I never meant for me and Nick to kiss. I didn't even know what was happening and the next thing I knew Brian was telling me to leave."
Kevin hugged her. "He'll realize it was just a mistake. I've known him all my life. He'll come to his senses."
Abby shook her head and opened the cab door. "I better get going." She looked at her watch. "My flight leaves in an hour."
"Take care of yourself Abby." Kevin told her. "Keep in touch with me ok?"
"Ok I will." Abby told him.
Kevin went slowly back into the house leaving Abby staring up at Brian's window.
IN BRIAN'S BEDROOM....
Brian looked down at Abby. He had been watching her ever since the cab had arrived. And last night when she was sleeping on the couch he went down and watched her sleep for hours. "Maybe I should stop her." Brian told himself. He watched as Abby turned to face the house once more. He could tell she was hoping he would stop her. Brian held himself back from running to the door and stopping her. He couldn't bare the pain of knowing she had kissed Nick. Brian's heart crumbled as he saw Abby begin to cry as she stared at the front door. Brian leaned toward the window and pressed his hand against the glass. Suddenly her eyes floated up to his bedroom window and their eyes met. Brian looked away fast. He waited a minute and then looked again. He saw her wipe away her tears and climb into the taxi. It pulled away from the curb and was out of sight. Anger filled Brian and he picked up his basketball and threw it against the wall causing a picture of him and abby to fall to the floor and cracking the glass down the middle. "Why did I let her go?" Brian yelled to himself in the silence of his room. Suddenly Brian realized that he should've listened to Abby and Nick's explanations. Maybe it wasn't what he thought. Brian ran down the stairs with his car keys in his hand. He hopped into his car and gunned the engine. He couldn't let Abby walk out of his life. He needed her as much as she needed him. "I gotta catch that cab."
THE KITCHEN OF BRIAN'S HOUSE....
Sarah sat at the kitchen table with a glass of tea in front of her. She didn't even feel thirsty. Kevin and Howie were sitting there with her.
'I don't know where I'll go." Sarah told them. "Abby was the only one I knew back in Pennsylvania and we shared an apartment."
"If you don't have anywhere else to go why don't you stay on tour with us?" Howie suggested.
Sarah shook her head. "I can't do that. I would have to see Nick everyday and I can't handle that."
Kevin folded his hands on the table. "Why don't you talk to him and listen to what he has to say?"
She just gave Kevin a look. "I can't...not right now."
"I'm not saying go talk to him right now." Kevin replied. "Just stay on tour with us when it starts back up and see what happens."
Sarah shrugged. "I guess I have no choice because I have no where else to go." She gave Howie and Kevin a small smile. "Thank you."
NICK'S HOUSE...
Nick was sitting in his bedroom with his best friend Rachel.
"I have screwed up majorly this time Rachel." Nick leaned back on his bed and covered his head with his hands. "I've screwed up my life, Sarah's life, Abby's life, and my best friend's life. I've ruined everything."
Rachel sat next to him and patted his shoulder. "No you haven't. You just made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes."
"But I can't fix this mistake. I kissed my best friend's girlfriend." Nick stood up and paced back and forth the room. "And the girl I love with all my heart won't even come within 5 feet of me."
Rachel took a deep breath. "Well, did you try talking to her or Brian and explaining?"
Nick shook his head. "They don't want to have anything to do with me. How am I supposed to make things right with Brian? I mean, he's my best friend and I've hurt him bad."
"Brian's probably just angry right now. You have to give them both time to realize that they need to listen to you. Besides, Brian and Abby are probably back together already." Rachel leaned back on her elbows on his bed.
"Howie called me earlier and told me that Brian told Abby to go back home to Pennsylvania." Nick informed her.
Rachel was shocked. "You're kidding me."
"Nope, she left this morning." Nick ran his hand threw his hair. "I've got to think of something to make everything right again. Some how I'll do it."
