"Hey Bone! Wake up man! C'mon," Howie said banging on AJ's hotel door. AJ groaned and quickly went to the door.
"Yo yo, D! Shut up! I heard you the first 5 million times you knocked on the door!" he said in a loud whisper.
"Sorry AJ. Why are you whispering?" AJ slowly opened the door wider to reveal Misty still fast asleep. "Ooh. Who's that?"
"Remember Misty?"
"Yea that girl you constantly talk about even though you haven't seen her for what 12 years?" Howie answered remembering all the times AJ had talked about his childhood best friend. AJ gave him a look.
"Well, that's Misty."
"It is? Wait... uh what? How?" Howie asked confused.
"Just give me a sec to get changed and I'll explain everything in your room, ok?"
"Sure. See ya." Howie left still trying to figure out the situation. AJ quickly took a shower and changed into a wife beater and blue Adidas wind pants. He checked on Misty before he went next door. She was still sound asleep. He went to her side and kissed her on the forehead and then went to D's room.
*D's Room*
"And... that's why she's here." AJ had just finished telling the story Misty had told him. He finally stopped pacing and sat down on the couch.
"Whoa..." was all Howie could come up with.
"Yea, that's what I thought. I can't believe she had to go through all that shit! I thought her mom was better than that. She used to be so sweet to Misty and me, bringing us milk and cookies in our tree house when we were younger. What the hell happened to her?" AJ asked no one in particular; it was more to himself.
"Bone, that's just the way life is. Some people just pick the wrong road to walk down," Howie said rationalizing.
"But why did this all have to happen to Misty? God, how could that bitch force her own daughter into a life of prostitution? And how could those fucking bastards," AJ practically yelled getting up again, "those drunken fucking bastards rape an innocent girl?" He, being truly enraged, punched the wall. "Ah, fuck it."
"AJ, calm down. It's over. She's here with you now. Be happy for that and enjoy it," Howie said putting a hand on his shoulder.
"You're right D, but it still ticks me off. How could... aw, forget it." There was a knock on the door. Howie walked over and opened it to reveal Brian, Kevin, and Nick.
"Hey, you guys alright in here?" Kevin asked curiously.
"Uh yea. We're fine," AJ replied rubbing his now bruised knuckles.
"Cuz we thought we heard you punch something and you were screaming real loud," Nick said.
"And I see you have punched something Bone... let's see," Brian said walking around Howie examining him. He had his left forefinger on his cheek and his thumb under his chin with a thinking expression on his face, "Hmmm... no bruises on Howie so I guess we're safe there." The guys laughed except AJ.
"That ain't funny Rok," AJ said abruptly.
"Wow, what's his problem?" Brian asked under his breath and backing away from him.
"God, I'm sorry..." AJ apologized.
"What's wrong Bone?" Kevin asked in his fatherly way.
"It's sorta... uh... long story," he replied slowly.
"Well we've got some time."
"We came here to see if you wanted to eat breakfast downstairs at that pancake house. I heard the food's great!" Nick said rubbing his stomach.
"Man, aren't you ever full?" Howie asked.
"Hey hey now, I'm a growing boy! I gotta eat!"
"Well, I'll meet you guys downstairs. I uh gotta get something," AJ said while opening the door to head to his room.
