Links

ATTENTION: My website has moved to a new server at the address of http://www.novusmusic.org. These FortuneCity pages will remain in place, but will no longer be updated. If you came across these pages on a search engine, please click through to the new site. Thank you.

This page got ridiculously large in the past, and quite frankly, I'm tired of going through a HUGE list of sites run by people I barely know and finding that half of these sites have died, moved, dropped my site from their links page, or some combination of the above. So, the only sites that will now be listed are those which offer a vital and important service to the scene, feature absolutely jaw-droppingly good music, are run by close friends of mine, or which I visit frequently. I want this page to be a RESOURCE, not a random list of sites.

Have a good tracking-related Web page that you want to promote? E-mail me, and I'll check it out and maybe trade links with you! A text link to http://www.novusmusic.org would be fine, but you can also use the spiffy link button on the left that my brother and I designed together, or the one on the right designed by scene legend Anders Akerheden.

Great Tracker Musicians

Dr. Awesome
This guy was certainly one of the best 4-voice MOD composers back in the 80s, and he's gotten even better in the 90's as a commercial artist. I own his "Wolves of the Gods" album, and it's spectacular! Also, if it hadn't been for his tracker songs "Bridge to the Universe 2" and "12th Warrior," I probably never would have discovered the MOD scene. But it gets better! Bjorn is about to release a CD of totally re-worked and re-produced versions of his old 80s MOD classics!

Lagoona
You may recall the tracking group once known as The Solid Energy Crew. Well, Andreas Viklund and Bjorn "Virtuos" Karlsson are making the leap from tracking to the commercial music scene after quite a while of supplying the scene with some great dance tunes. Here, you can grab all of the old TSEC releases, as well as order their CD "Dreams," get info on their quest to get a recording contract, and keep up with Andreas as he continues to release tracked tunes through the Kosmic Free Music Foundation. Good luck, guys! :)

Kosmic Free Music Foundation
Man, how do I describe these guys? They are HUGE in the MOD scene, and for good reason. If you've never heard of them before, go find out why they're so big!

Elwood's World of Music
This page isn't run by Elwood, but it does contain a COMPLETE collection of his jaw-droppingly awesome music. Don't miss this stuff!

Imago
Karsten Koch's group! Check out his breathtaking tracker tunes right now!

Rebel Riffs
Steve Gilmore is a very active member of the scene, and a respected tracking musician.

Anders Akerheden
One of the most innovative trackers in the scene today, with a soft style all his own and songs full of well-written and well-sung vocal parts. He and his girlfriend Lisa Lindstrom also run the Heavenly Music Compo every year.

Saboteur
The home page of the artist of the wonderful ambient/fantasy track "Unite."

Friends, Etc.

An inventor, a computer nerd, a luckless radio intern, a nice girl with magical powers, a self-absorbed vampire, a shape-changing alien, a talking ferret, and a homicidal lop-eared rabbit. And that's just the cast of characters. :) Join Riff, Torg, Zoe, Gwynn, Sam, Aylee, Kiki, and Bun-Bun in an absolutely hilarious romp through zany and entertaining story lines, great dialogue, and tons of inside jokes. (Words you never want to hear from Riff: "Let me check my notes...")

User Friendly: The Comic Strip
This is a daily comic strip written and drawn by Illiad. It combines the creativity of "Calvin & Hobbes" with the manic energy and satirical nature of "Bloom County" into a hilarious look at the Internet, the Linux culture, Microsoft, and life in general.
